Gonna get this started off right...and give me a place to document stuff for myself.

Picked up my new 2021 TRD Pro Crewmax Lunar Rock yesterday. 8 miles on the ODO when I jumped in the seat. When I arrived at the dealership, it was still wrapped in white shrink wrap. I'm freaking stoked!

She came bone stock from the dealer - at least as bone stock as a TRD Pro can be. [IMG]
Now to start building the mod list...

    Electrical Wiring:
    Audio / Video / Comms:
    Lighting (Interior & Exterior):
    Suspension / Drive Train / Performance / Off-Road:
    On Board Air:
    Cargo / Storage:
    General / Cosmetic - Interior:
    General / Cosmetic - Exterior:
    Techstream Tweaking:
Mods on order or waiting for parts (or time to install):
    • Manual Reverse Light Override
    • Fix/finish the VSC Auto Disable
    • Chase Lights
    • The rest of my comms install
    • Wheelers extended rear bump stops
    • EVC throttle doodad
    Mods still thinking about:
    • AGM Battery
    • Under-seat fire extinguisher
    • Full OB Air Distribution
    • Recovery kit
    • Amp, Sub, and new speakers
    • Replacement rear leaf pack?
    • Overland Trailer (M116 or M1102 type build)
    • Many more I can't think of at the moment...

As soon as I got it home, the first “mod” I did was put my rear view mirror “trophy” in the new truck. It’s simply an inert 7mm Rem Mag round hanging on a loop with a bear claw and an elk ivory on either side. The significance are the claws of the first bear I ever got (when I was barely old enough to hunt), and the ivories of the first elk I ever got (when I was much in my 30’s). Both were gotten with the same cartridge/bullet/load.

That color looks far nicer than I anticipated seeing photos of it from owners.

Congrats on the awesome truck! Since it is a PRO, might I suggest no mods, perhaps? That's right, I went there.

Oh, there will be some mods, but nothing outlandish. I have a history of spending a lot of time and effort on little things that look OEM (or are OEM). On my 2008 SR5, I had added the auto-on headlights, automatic climate control AC, and completely rewired it for an OEM JBL 2010 stereo with working XM and USB ports (I had JBL in it, but the 2008 version didn't have BT streaming audio or USB support). When shopping for this truck, I already had a specific list of options that I had to add myself to the previous one that I didn't have to do on this one, so to me, it is already "modded" pretty well. I also considered buying a Limited and then putting it through the TRD Bro treatment, but even getting a good deal on a Limited I would have been looking at damn near the same price and would have had to spend a lot of time to get there. And I still wouldn't have had the 1) color I really wanted, 2) suspension (which does ride nicer than my older TRD Bilsteins), and 3) those oh-so-special rear fenders.

I'll start with some little stuff - finding a quality inlay for the rear fender logos, getting a bed liner sprayed in, getting steps, getting a rolling hard tonneau, probably do the front/rear anytime camera mod (had that in my '08 - it was my first mod), tailgate lock, recreate my in-bed shovel and axe mounts. I want to get rid of the silver and chrome in the interior...I'm ok with the darker brushed metal on the stereo but the pure silver on the middle of the console and the steering wheel is terrible. Might look for some accent bits here and there (to match the red on black it already has), relocate a few switches to more convenient locations, replace the rear cigarette lighter with a functional USB charger... Hey - looks like I've got a list started. :D

Ordered graphics to fill in the bed and tailgate stamps. I'll post details later.

    Looks great op!

which insert for the tailgate stamp did you get? Mine from Toyota came with a silver trd and the pro was in black. Wasn’t digging it at first but I like it now

Was kinda hoping for black and red I think the red would really pop on this color

I already knew that was the deal. Tundras.com wasn't around when I bought my '08, but I was very active on several other sites until about 2015 when work and life got too busy. Now with the arrival of my new '21, it was time to see what was out there for the new "Gen 3's" and discovered a couple of my old haunts were gone...so I'm glad I found this place.

Nice - I searched and searched and couldn't find any reference to official "factory" infills. I pulled the trigger on a set from Tufskinz since they had more depth/thickness than the ones on ebay and Amazon that I was seeing. I did order red TRD with black PRO along with black TUNDRA for the tailgate. What steps are those you have?

Congrats, Rain Man. Great looking truck.

I had to LOL at the dashboard pic, though. When I picked up my 2020 Tundra, the computer said I had a range of about 600 miles as well.

It doesn't say that anymore at fill-up!

Not sure - I assume you're meaning over the sides/tops of the beds (not over the accessory rails). Probably won't though, as I'll be putting a retracting tonneau on it that will cover the top rails anyway.

LOL - after 12 years with my '08, I know what to expect. Having 12 more gallons in the fuel tank (which is damn near 50% more than I had before) is amazing all by itself!

UPDATE 12/08/20 - I installed a center console safe and so this wouldn't fit any more. So I gifted it to a fellow Tundras member (who happens to also be my coworker).

Ordered a "half" console organizer over the weekend and dropped it in this morning.

This is the one I ordered:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DJ5Z1L7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No frills - the rubber mats are super sticky on the bottom. I wasn't sure I wanted to completely cover over the whole box, so I'll give this one a try for now. Might still need to add an organizer in the lower section as well.

    • Quick Fist clamps (for the in-bed axe and shovel mounts)
    • Vehicle OCD console organizer (for down in the bottom)
    • JDMCAR rubber cup holder insert kit (black w/ red details)
    • V-Ring tie-down anchors to install in the bed
    • MOLLE seat back organizer for the back side of the drivers seat
    • NFAB Podium LS steps
Also started calling local spray-in bedliner installers.

Toyota of Olympia? Was this the one with no dealer options? I was trying to buy this one from them before it even came in but they wouldn't take a deposit lol I didn't want to book a flight to pick it up without securing it at first.

Also interested in the black/red combo. Post some pics once you get it.

Yes, that's the one. I was trolling autotrader for any 2021 Tundra with the keyword "Lunar" and getting quotes back for way too much over list. This one had NOTHING extra on it, and likewise they weren't willing to take a deposit. That was last Saturday evening (weekend before last), so I called when they opened on Sunday morning and said, "If I jump in the truck right now (it's 100 mile drive), how do I know that truck won't be sold when I get there?"

They said that since I had already been talking seriously with the sales guy the night before, and because I was a local (WA) buyer, they would hold the truck for me for that day. I swear that 100 miles was the longest 1-1/2 hours of my life...

Placed orders for G-TEK Door Sill Protectors (black, diamond plate) I had a set on my '08 for nearly 300k miles and they were bombproof. The rear one actually protects the edge like the factory front ones do as well

    Scheduled my Line-X for tomorrow

Ugh...ordered a shifter assembly that has the Tomahawk shifter attached from a junk yard. I'll be doing some restoration on it when it arrives possibly, but it will bring a little bit of old comfort into the new ride.
