Same. And here’s to the top of the side plate at the rear should you need that as well.

I picked that up to make sure that I am consistent on testing equipment. It does come in handy pretty often though!

But did you use a straight edge and make sure your measurement was perfectly square to the plane of the rack and the back of the truck? :D

    Yes, I did.
I used a 4-foot level across the cross bars and then measured up from the bed "lip" behind the cab directly to the underside of the level.

You have a method written up? Might need to run it by the jasonspec QA dept.

Depends, does this alter the “love” you show for the forum in the form of a discount?

I'm never giving a flat discount sitewide though. Margins be too dumb. You just gotta ask, and I'll do you right.

Do I need to draw up a formal procedure, or can I just sketch it out in crayons?

No such inferences have been rendered.

Finally got around to finishing up my "poor man's CAI" using some of the TRD CAI parts.
    IMG_1015.jpg

Specifically, these are the parts that I used:
Install was pretty easy. Remove the existing intake assembly with big ass goiter on the side of it. Install the TRD elbow coupling onto the TRD intake tube, then install that onto the throttle body. Measure and mark the straight tube to length so it just fits to the shoulders on the air box and the intake tube, then cut to length and install it. The small vacuum line can easily be routed to the matching point on the air intake tube, but the existing vent/vacuum hose needs to be removed from the T fitting and replaced with a longer one cut out of the new universal one.

Other write-ups use a 4” ID straight coupler section, but the 3.75” is a snug fit that is closer to how the factory parts fit.

I need to get some miles on the truck now to see what, if any, changes I notice from it.

    Other parts in this "system"
    TRD Air Intake Accelerator
aFe Magnum Flow DRY air filter

Also finally got my Baja Designs Squadron SAE Fog Lights installed today.

Since I've got the TRD Pro with the square bezels, I also had to pick up the round bezels for my truck:
Installation is reasonably well documented in their installation instructions. What wasn't super clear was that the stainless bolt with rubber cap on it should be left loose until you have the fog light assembly in the bumper, and then you tighten it up and it will press against the inside of the bumper and stiffen things up.

I did decide to cut off the connectors that BD installs on the lamps and install H11 male terminals/connectors directly onto the lights to avoid another "adapter harness." I found these on ebay and they worked just fine.

I didn't get a picture of them lit up, so I'll need to update this post in the next day or so with a lit-up picture and one of the road with them on.

I'm running the aFe DRY filter. I had one in my 2008 and it worked great and was easy to take care of compared to the oiled ones.

Just swapped my USB-C charging port out for "OPTION 2" including the correct OEM connector.
I'm OK with the media/CarPlay port still being USB-A since I use wireless CarPlay anyway.IMG_1143.jpg

In working on my 3-Switch mount for the Platinum Trim, I decided to swap out my console parts with new ones and to switch over to the MESO chrome delete kit. I also hit the shifter trim area with some satin clearcoat while I had it removed.

And another quick interior upgrade - the Revesol Leather Steering Wheel.
MAKE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE TOUCHING THE AIRBAG CONNECTORS.

Also be sure to mark the spline shaft with which way the wheel is oriented before you remove the old one (mine was "locked" slightly to the left from straight when I pulled the wheel). And make sure not to spin the clock spring around at all when removing the old wheel - there's only one way it will fit in the opening in the wheel, but if you end up turning it a rotation you can mess things up.
