You need to install that on your headlamp assembly it’s the piggy back harness so you don’t have to splice I have a 19 might be little different but I will take some pics when I get home tonight hopefully will help

What year and trim is your truck? Also, do you have factory headlights? Or installed factory LEDs or non DRL headlights? The headlight setup that you have decides how to wire the bar.

Did you install LED turn signals? If you didnt. Just unplug factory plug and connect it to the T harness from the light bar and the other end to the headlight. Then the plug that connects to the factory plug from the car CUT the blue wire and you have to tap a cable from that blue cut cable to the purple on the motorized plug down on the headlight. For that you need to take out the battery, it is the only way to access it without taking grill and headlights out. Do not cut blue cable on the factory plug from the car, cut the blue cable on the plug coming from the t harness to the car factory plug.

I have a 2015 1794. I have the factory headlights with the factory DRL.

I followed the HR videos for the Gen 1 since I wanted the strobe. I started going through the manual and I've noticed it says for Gen 2 bars not to pin 2 & 9. Well I've pinned those. I didn't do the jumper wire like the videos or the manual because of the harness.

Even now with the harness not installed I get swipe and strobe. The light bar works with high beams but only when the headlight switch isn't set to Auto.

I'm completely lost here and wondering should I have not pinned 2 & 9 better yet if so how to depin them.

I did not use the harness provided, and on the video he didn't use it either. Just jump to the purple, and should work.

Oh and you dont have to take battery out, I unplugged it, and moved it to one side away from the headlight connector just enough to fit my hands to work down there. I did it so I could try different setup until I got the one that worked for me.

So it sounds like the harness is a waste???? Why would they include it... Do you think the harness would work if I depinned 2&9.

I don't mind splicing but if I don't have to and can make the harness work that would be the direction for me.

I take it yours is a Gen 2 as well?

I just purchased it about a month ago so yeah I think is gen2 I don't have strobe which Im good about it. I installed it following original specs. Pinned it as per instructions. I have the light-bar running the corner lights as DRL. Then on demand swipe lights, and high beam full bar when not on auto. Im cool with it. I had trouble installing because I purchased OEM 2018+ LED DRL headlights with LED turning signals and the NSV. Took me a while to figure out because technically my trim didn't have factory LED DRL headlights, only daytime LED, so although I installed it, I had to use provided plug and play harness, but does not make it factory therefore instructions re not the same, then NSV installation went crazy because instructions are either factory DRL or not. No in between lol. Anyways, I had to cut the blue cable and jump it on the purple and not switch any pin so the turning signals would work.

10-4. Thanks for the info. All the functionality works with the exception of the DRL on the light bar so I guess the DRL harness supplied doesn't work with the 1794 trim level??? I can make the jumper from the blue to the purple.

Any idea why they (NSV) is saying on the GEN 2 not to pin 2 & 9?

Pin #2 is a redundant 12+ bat supply for the DRL and swipe on alarm. When disconnected, it prevents them from back feeding and holding the turn light on, and prevents accidentally triggering the swipe function when signalling with a short pulse (not fully engaging the turn signal).

Pin #9 is actually the "blue" tap wire from the headlight that dims the DRL when the low beams are turned on. There are many automatic lighting features in our trucks (not "auto" headlight setting) that confuse things for the nsv. Disconnecting this defeats the dim feature, but allows for nsv switch control over the DRL at full brightness

    Great info. Thank you!

Let me ask you this... I spoke with Jensen yesterday about the harness that came with my kit. It seems I was shipped a Gen 3. That harness plugs into headlight motor and gets rid of the need for the jumper. I've got it hooked up now the way he told me too as well had to disconnect the blue wire from the NSV harness that is running into the headlight.

I populated pin 3 instead of pin 8 because I wanted the strobe feature. Do you think I need to unpin #2 to get the DRL function? Right now everything works correctly: Stone, Swipe, Swipe on for unlock/lock. Just no side markers on the light bar.

    Any insight is much appreciated.

I am using a Switch Pro to apply 12+ to the blue anytime I want it "dim" and leaving the nav happy and functional. I am also using the SP to give me overall control of the nsv, even with the lights/truck being off.

The only way to get the dim and the bright is to have one or the other while maintaining safe function of the nsv.

Theft light went away after I started it a couple times.
Guess it just needed to remember what key was what.

    Install went flawless though

Got my NSV light bar on the July 4Th sale!!!! The 15% discount was apparently the straw that broke the camels back on me dropping the money on it. I installed mine in segments due to my work schedule this last week. I mounted the light the first night. Ran and pinned the harness through the hood the next night. Yesterday/last night I finished the rest of it. I was very happy with the look, fit & function of the light. I have a 2018 Platinum with LED headlights and DRL's. It got a bit confusing on the T-harness part of the install. I didn't cut or re-pin any connectors on the first install. I went out to try it out and was happy. Once I got over the initial wow factor of the new bright light...I started looking closer and noticed my drivers side front blinker was on all the time and didn't blink when the turn signal was on. Then when all the NSV light was completely turned off, and I turned on the left blinker....the blinker would blink but would blink and then be off set by BOTH OEM DRL's counter blinking!!!

Thanks to @cook2kill and @starbucks' write ups...I figured out all I needed to do was cut (or like @starbucks did...de-pin) the blue female wire from the T-harness that attaches to the headlight...system works like a champ and couldn't be happier!

I pulled out the turn signal bulbs tot swap them out. I'm sure I must have pulled a splice or something, but I can't figure out how I had it exactly. =/

I have the Gen 3 setup, so pin 8 to 3 would give you strobe ?
Which switch controls the strobe then ?
    Thanks...

    Lost track after #1.
You're likely going to lose this feature eventually anyhow. I had to de-pin that connection because the swipe would sometimes trigger when using the turn signals while driving. It's a bug in the NSV bar that they haven't fixed to my knowledge. Here's the postmortem from my install:

As well as a couple of other issues I ran into along the way:

hi guys new to the forum. does anyone know if i attach the blue wire from the piggyback harness directly to the battery instead of the purple wire from my headlight motor will this work or will it cause other problems? Does the blue wire need to be connected to ignition on power or is constant power ok? T have a 2019 trd pro wiyh led headlights and drl's. thanks for all the info

I saw one reply in this thread related to connecting the NSV to a Switch-Pros module. Can someone say more about the specific wiring modifications. Apparently, there is no wiring diagrams available, but since the Switch-Pros has trigger settings available then my initial thought was to just connect to 12v power and then tie in the desired NSV switch legs to a Switch-Pros switch.

Are the DRL’s supposed to dim with headlight low/off setting?

When in auto and manual, my DRL switch will not turn off the DRL’s. Is this correct?

Something is wrong because my lights (with DRL on) seem to be too bright to oncoming traffic at night. Trying to not get a ticket especially since I can’t turn the DRL’s off at night.
