Hello everyone, forgive me for being annoying. I tried to avoid creating a new thread because I know some already exists but using the search function didn’t seem helpful for me. I am seeking recommendations on lift vs leveling, pros cons and pictures of people who have done already on 17’-19’ tundras. I have two small children so I don’t want anything drastic, just want slight larger, more aggressive looking tires with black rims. Thanks for input!
Links to other threads helpful as well

I lowered the rear of my truck to level it, details are listed in my build thread below.
I didn't want a lift that would make it more difficult for people to enter & exit.

For what it's worth I have done some reading and although I haven't pulled the trigger yet, and might be a year or so away from doing so, I am going to likely go with the Bilstein 6112 COs on front and 5100s on the back.

    Best of luck!

I believe this is probably what you are looking for:

level kit (Bilstein 5100's at top setting which gives it about 2.2" of lift in the front). The rear is stock. And here are your aggressive tires (Nitto Ridge Grapplers @ 275/70/18) on Method NV 18" wheels with a +25 offset:

Its all lift kits if the truck is going up. Leveling is the end result of how the truck sits.

There is no difference between lifting and leveling. You just pick how high you want to go.

Tundra’s have soft rear springs, so keep the back higher if you use your truck bed

No trimming and no rubbing. Trimming/rubbing comes down to four things, really:
    - suspension height (I went up 2.2" in the front over stock)
    - offset (the more aggressive your offset, the more chance of rubbing). Stock 20" wheels have a +60 offset while the 18" Methods that I run is +25 (so they stick out about 1.5" more)
    - tire width (I run a 275mm wide width which is the stock width, so that reduces the chance of rubbing). Many people will run a 295mm width (or more) which increases the chance of rubbing.
    - tire diameter (I run a 33.2" high/diameter tire). The 295/70/18 (34.3") with an aggressive offset will rub. It's both wider (by 20mm) and 2" taller than stock.

    Check your tire sizes here:

Putting stock size tires on an 18x9 rim will make them look a lot bigger. Something to keep in mind

Which is why I went down from the stock 20" wheels to 18".

Gained about 3.25” up front and about 1.8” out back. I really love my set up. I’ve had spacer lifts and this is my first adjustable suspension, and I’ll never go back to a spacer. Good luck finding your look/feel.

I went with 6112’s set at 1.9 the rear is stock with 5100’s went with Yokos 285/70/18s ride quality improved with this setup. It’s all about how much you want to lift it, how big of tire you wanna go with and what your going to do with it after you lift it. Hope this helps.17F35B9D-118A-4968-8585-C35348C5420D.jpg

They are E rated. Yea it’s a heavy tire, but I guess it’s just a little extra piece of mind when I load the truck up and take long trips.

I thought I posted this thread one night when I was half awake lol. I have the same questions and similar scenario. I just ordered the Black Rhino Fury in 18x9.5 12mm offset with 295/70R18s. A few of you went with the Bilstein setup and I think that's what I'm leaning toward. MAGDADDY, did you piece together this kit and if so, what CB drop did you go with? Thanks!

Found yea I shopped around and bought from different places based off price. The Coachbuilder +3 shackles I bought came with the cb drop.

Oh, few more questions. Did you have to do the cab/body mount chop or did the Coachbuilder shims eliminate that need? Or did you just want to level the front with the shims?

David at Coachbuilder actually talked me into the shims. I had originally planned on keeping the factory 20” wheel and running some 275/65/20. After all that I just couldn’t stand how narrow the truck looked, so I changed it. Didn’t need a BMC but I did end up trimming some plastic in the wheel well and using Coachbuilder front bumper shims to push the bumper out 1”. I like the way it turned out, this is what it looked like before wheels. 1F69E051-1B85-4722-986A-DC5C48E78EDE.jpg

Sweet, good looking truck for sure. Is the camper shell making the rear squat a little or is that from the front shims? Reason I ask is I want to keep some stock rake, for the look and also for what I understand is to avoid some issues with the TSS system on mine.

I was looking for the same outcome but I think the shims put it a touch nose high. But I will say I think it’s settled a bit and looks I think better now. The cap weighs 200lbs, so maybe a tiny bit but not much. Luckily I’ve had both the recalls done before I lifted it and since, I’ve had zero issues with TSS. Even had it try to stop itself when I came up too fast on cars in front.

Check out the Black Rhino Fury in 18x9.5 in black for your truck. Here's a pic of a Tundra with them that I found on the internet. I think the tires are 285/70R18, definitely Ridge Grapplers like I'm going with. I considered the black finish because they also had them in 20s, but I have the MGM paint, so I ordered the Gunmetal in 18s. The 20 inch gunmetal are out-of-stock nationwide for who knows how long. The 18s are slight bit heavier than some (I think 35lbs each, 20s are about 45 lbs'ish) but if you go with larger tire anyway, I'm not sure what overall difference a few pounds will make. Black Rhino has some other sweet rims like the Armory and Arsenal. Those give more of a tactical/Mil-Spec look. The Fury is between a tactical and tuner look to me. EDIT: It also has a 12mm offset, which if you go with a 295/70R18, which is what I am going with, I am estimating about 2 inches of poke out the fender wells.

My 13 with Readylift 3/2 and Ridge Grapplers in 285/70/18's on a 0 offset. Eventually will replace spacers with a coilover and shackle setup.

    See build thread below.
I currently have 275/65/18s. Do you think if I just put spacers on the front stock TRD bilstein shocks enough to level it I would be able to fit 285/70/18 with no trimming necessary?

I dont think they will fit. I have 285/70's with a 3/2 lift and I am very close in the front. I have rubbed on some of the trim on the forward side of the wheel well lining.

Hey bro, I think I saw that you have the JBA UCAs. Is that correct and if so, do you like them? I put on the Toytec Boss kit 3" coilovers up and have some alignment issues. A lot of folks suggest either the SPC or Total Chaos. Regarding the SPC, I'm seriously concerned I can find an alignment tech in the area I live that will take the time or have the knowledge to adjust these. The JBAs look really beefy, but one concern I have is that they might shift the wheel back further toward the body mount, which I am trying to avoid. Maybe that can be countered in an alignment or it may be a false impression.

Yea I like the JBA arms. I had total chaos on my 15 and didn’t really notice a difference, but to be fair I was running a spacer lift and think that didn’t help. Also the adjustability of the spc made me have the same thoughts you do. I went with the JBA on reviews and price and I think they are great. Obviously I’m no alignment pro but I would imagine a good tech could get them set up right. As far as the wheel moving too far back, I haven’t had any problems with that, actually had more contact issues on front side. I’m running a +20 18x9 with a 295/70 and I’m good at the body mount, closest I’ve come is rubbing on the mud flap bump out, which I cut out and now have no rubbing at all. Hope this helps ya!
