I'm undecided so far on the shifter. The reflective chrome is what annoys me the most. The softer "silver" tones I'm fine with. Think I'll get the AG vent rigs and shift gate from AJT next and see how it looks. Taking small steps so I don't go too far.

Makes sense. If I like the way the AG vents look I might just buck up and swap em out for my black ones. I really do like my black vents though. We'll see...

Hey GT. Did you pick "dark green" or "foliage green"?

Cool. I just emailed Rich (the guy you bought your stickers from). He suggested the “dark green” might be closer in color to our AG.

What are you using that storage for in the back? Going to the range? I was curious if you put foam in there and cut it out to match the shapes. :)

No, nothing like that. I've just got misc gear in there right now. Maps, hats, gloves, a blanket or two...maybe a IFAK.

Hey man! I'm super late, but how were you able to get these on? Mine don't seem to fit in the housing, though they definitely fit the light. I can only get one side snapped on.

Hey Kevin ~ I don't remember there being a trick to it other than I had to use a little force and a little wiggling. I did get them both on relatively quickly. Less than a few minutes.

Thanks! I'll mess with it more in a bit. I didn't try too hard, just wanted to test on my current truck before I trade in for the 2021 Lunar Rock but just gonna wait until I get my new truck to put them on

Yeah, the tabs on the light don't fit well around the plastic trim that surrounds the lights. Just need to pry and push it a bit...I've had mine on all summer and love 'em.

    Updated Sept '22

Been slowly de-chroming the interior with AJT Design stuff. Added the steering wheel, vent covers and starter ring in 2020ish. Had the dash pulled apart today and got the rings installed around the HVAC controls.

Still have more steering wheel parts and the ring for the 4x4 selector to install. Those will wait for another day.

Edit Sept '22: When I got the Diamondback cover (See post #98 and 99) I moved this gear over to the cover. While the Rago is solid kit, I was happy to have eliminated the rattling and also have it secure under the cover.

Not sure if the Rago mounts will work under the cover, but the flag pole definitely will not. Need to figure that stuff out...

Also added some Rago gear a few months ago. The rack holds my summer gear when we are camping. It's a solid piece of kit, but rattles. Wish there was a way to secure it at the bottom.
    0A87F7E5-1952-4F9F-A1D4-53162F2845FA.jpg

Also added a flag holder. Love it...thinking about getting a second one so I can fly the stars and strips and another flag while camping. Ideally something to irritate the greenie hippies in their $150k Mercedes class B.

I bought a TRD badge but wasn't sure what the steps were to install. How much disassembly did it require?

    Time to get caught up…

I tied the battery hold-down bracket too tight. Was doing an engine bay inspection and noticed some battery acid leaked out. It ate into into the hold-down so that ended up in the trash. Was a good excuse to go buy the last Northstar at my local dealer.
    EA054FB7-B0D4-4B3E-AA0D-DB945AAB9C0E.jpg

The gurus confirmed the battery needs 14+ volts to charge. The truck ranges from 13.3 when towing to 13.7 under normal driving, so gotta get one of those voltage dongles soon.

Pulled the wheel covers back and did the fog light jiggle mod.

Installed the Toyota tailgate lock. I loved not having the tailgate tied to the autolock, but so do the crackheads.

Edit Sept '22: I took the plate off in the spring so I could grab a transmission fluid sample and didn't re-install it while towing this past summer. After lots of towing and also lots of extended highway driving (1hr+), I feel that while the shield doesn't increase transmission temps, they do rise faster and take much longer to cool down. Never could do an apples-to-apples comparison on temps, but at most the plate added 3-5 degrees.

In the end, I gave the plate to a fellow member to use. The weight is a factor (I'm heavy when towing) and our future appears to have lots of towing in hot regions. I might consider an aluminum one if I ever add a transmission cooler...but for now I'll just risk it. I will pay more attention to the installation hardware, as I wasn't happy with the rust that accumulated on the DE hardware in the short time I used it.

And also did the catalytic cover skid plate from Desert Eagle. Had to cut notches to fit around the TRD skid plate. This thing is beefy and is basically a transmission skid plate.

I am a bit concerned this cover will cut off too much airflow and drive up the tranny temps when I’m towing. I’ll be watching those closely. F58F1965-C384-4F68-8F29-172630F02EB0.jpg
