I'm not a master mechanic, nor do I have the facilities to do anything crazy. I do love adding accessories to make the truck more mine...so I'll document my various items here. Feel free to ask any questions...

This is Green Thunder as of August 2023. Our new trailer is the latest accessory. Loaded with water and gear the trailer is about 7,200lbs. I'm right at my rear axle capacity so will have to watch my loading carefully. Transmission temps were normal on level ground, but climbed quickly on long hills. There is definitely a cooler in my future.

Mods and Accessories - Pending or Under Consideration

    • Console switch mount and rear window switch...waiting for a few more ideas to use up the additional switch locations.
    • Transmission cooler...waiting for a holiday sale.
    • AJT Steering control repin...purchased, waiting to install
    Mods and Accessories Removed
    • Punisher hood decal: Removed to do something new (#17)
    • Battery Holder: Damaged due to leaking battery (#83)
    • N-Fab cab steps: Finish started to peal (#29)
    • Interior Tundra decal (#58): Color match wasn’t close enough, especially when I added more dechrome accessories from AJT
    • Weather Guard truck box (#26)
    • American flag decals (#4)
    • Desert Eagle Catalytic shield (#88) - Took off to pull a tranny fluid sample and didn't have the energy to put back on. Also like letting the transmission get more air around it for cooling.
    • Rago small bed mount and flag holder (#82) - Doesn't work with the Diamondback cover
    • LED reverse lights (#39) - These cheap POS keep falling out and rattling round inside my light cover assembly. So junked them.

First mod...adding a lock box to the center console. Installed this Lock’r Down half-size box yesterday. Very happy with the quality and fit. I have a few mods to the box planned, but that’s for another day...

Next mod was to debadge the truck. I love a clean look, so spent some time today with the wife’s hair dryer and plastic trim shims to pry everything off. Gone are the “Tundra”, “iForce” and “4x4” badges. Then a good wash to get all the grime off...

Edit: Removed the flags in May, ‘22. A few stars were wearing off after all the washing and I didn’t want to age the paint too long and create a shadow.

And finally, when it was all dry and clean I applied the flags! They’re basically where the iForce badges used to be

That’s it for now. I’ve got another decal coming for the hood scoop (it might as well serve a purpose) and a lock box for under the rear seat (dealer installed next week). After that, I need to find some steps, install my dash camera and maybe find a place for the Scan Gauge II. And the mods to the center console box

I ordered them from a guy on the "Tacoma World" website. ** see attached picture ** He's really good and ships quick.

His username is: CBoy808 and his email is sales@stickerhi.com - The ones I got are matte black (not glossy). Personal preference.

    Good luck!CBoy808 flag stickers.jpg

@freedomoftime I think @TheBeast is asking me about my dash cam.

I just have the Voifo A119S. It’s a cheaper unit, but had a lot of good reviews online. I’ve had it for about a year now and like it. My guess is it won’t last much longer and when it dies I’m going to get a nicer unit. Possibly one with a rear camera if I can find a place to mount it. Kind of difficult on the Tundra since the whole rear window goes down.

    Last night’s addition...

Overall I like it, but did hope it would take up more of the scoop. Guess I could have gone with the larger decal. I’ll probably pull it off in the spring as I’ve already got another idea for something that I think will fill out the area better.

Dealer installed the lock box from the Toyota Accessory catalog today. Looks pretty sharp and doesn’t rattle. Not as deep as I’d hoped, but it will work. Fit and finish is nice, but the gauge is pretty thin.

What is that part number for Toyota for the “gun safe”? :)

Also, what did it cost + the install? If you’re cool sharing....

No clue on the PN...it was in the catalog. I’ll see if I can find a PN tomorrow.

As for cost, it was part of the sale for my truck. I think list was $960 installed and they took $300 off. So $660 installed.

Edit: Truck box was great, but didn’t like the look or needing two people to remove it. Sold it and replaced with the Diamondback cover and Victory 4x4 molle panel

Needed more storage, so Weather Guard to the rescue. I have a box of theirs that sits inside the bed, but didn’t want to drill into the bed or have something I couldn’t remove easily. So...wife is pissed (again).

Time to add the scan gauge...I love this thing. Have used it in every vehicle I’ve owned since I bought it back in the 2010 timeframe. Took me a few minutes to program it for the transmission temp, but now it’s ready. Looking forward to having this when I’m towing this summer given that this truck doesn’t have the tranny cooler.

Did you ever get your flag decals put on? I'd love to see em.

Edit: Removed after two years as the finish was pealing. See pics below.

Enter the N-FAB PRT0784CC-TX steps. The bar tucks up nicely under the body, steps are big and have a good no-slip surface. Made of aluminum, so they’re light weight. The best part is a “damaged box” offer popped up for $130 off MSRP, so I took the risk. Sure enough, the box was roughed up...but the steps were in great shape. I’m happy...

March 2022…the finish on the end caps started to peal off on three of the four corners. So off them come.5A3805A5-68D4-42DE-A214-616C136CCCB8.jpg
