Anyone know how to access the ABS Fuses? My ABS is now kicking in when coming to a stop after replacing some front end components.

    Just replaced:
    Upper Control Arms
    Lower Control Arms
    Tie Rod ends
    Sway bar links
    Lower ball joints
    Coil overs

I cleaned the wheel speed sensors with no help. Wanted to pull the fuses for troubleshooting purposes. May just leave them out. I swiped these pictures from another thread but exactly the same fuse box I have.

Couple threads I found with the same issue.

We had the exact same issue last year when working on @jpink 05. We never could find the fuses. We asked here and no one knew.

On my 02, there are 2 ABS fuses in the main box under the hood. Very easy to find and pull. Something changed in 05 apparently.

On his truck, we just traced the ABS wires along the front wheel area and unplugged it and the connector.

It's been 3.5 years and I never fixed my false ABS activation. I tried 3 different sensors and none worked.

One member was able to fix his by adjusting how the sensor head sits in that hole. It has to be in there just right or the magnet tip will get wonky. I never had any success.

Thanks for the input. I checked and cleaned the sensors to ensure they were seated correctly. The right front definately needed to be cleaned up. They look seated correctly. I believe the fuses are located under those big main fuses on the inboard side. Just gotta figure out how to get under there. I figured Id ask to try and get an idea before after I start ripping apart things after work today.

I hope you have better luck than me with this issue. It seems that if these sensors have been plugged in for 15 years, once you unplug them it can take a miracle to get them to work again. That magnetic tip has to sit there perfectly. A lot of us had no issue until we removed them for suspension work.

    Keep us posted.

    @des2mtn did you fix yours?

I'm no longer dealing with phantom ABS activation and my ABS works fine. I can't tell you what exactly fixed it for me. It was either removing the sensors again and again, cleaning them, and making sure they are seated properly -- or when I last bled the brakes I did the quick stop on dirt method.

OP, did you remove your ABS sensors at all prior to the false activations?

Interesting. My phantom activations only came after I removed the rear sensors. I had already done my front end suspension years before this came up.

Another thing when I was researching this, I saw something about the Yaw/ deceleration sensor under the passenger seat needing to be recalibrated. I believe there is a procedure in the FSM. When I'm home in a few days I'll try to find some links for you.

So apparently the black and green cartdridge looking items are big fuses with internal fuses you can see through a clear window. So no pulling ABS fuses for me.

    Fixed my issue.

Pulled both front wheel speed sensors and cleaned.
Cleaned up the crust mating surfaces.
Blew out the hole with air.
    Reinstalled.
    Disconnected batter for 10 minutes.

    All is well.

As noted above for anyone in the future that stumbles on this thread. If you are searching for the ABS fuses and your fuse box is like the one I posted they are part of the bus bars and you arent able to just "pull the ABS fuses" to disable the ABS system.
