2005 tundra ticking engine compartment

When I start up cold there is a loud ticking noise and the oil pressure goes up but after a while the ticking noise goes way down and the oil pressure evens out to normal pressure.

 

Your exhaust manifolds are likely cracked. Not a huge issue but common.

 

Do they find this problem exhaust manifold cracked by using a diagnostic machine ?

 

could also be that you need an oil change. Ticking can come from many things- lifters, exhaust, accessory pulleys and belts. Suggest you see if you can isolate where the noise is coming from.

Also I can report that my oil pressure gauge has always been all over the place. As far as I can tell that is normal. Others on here seem to report the same.
