I might be the only one to hand wash my bed.

We're closing on our new house Friday so I wanted to clean out all the crud in here before we start using it to move our stuff.

The bed mat looks a lot better.

How did you like the 4.88 gears with 35s vs the 33s you have now? Im planning on running 33s in the future and regearing to 4.56 or 4.88 not sure yet. But with my extra weight with camping equipment, camper shell, sliders, bumpers and skid plates, not to mention the weight of bigger tires, im wondering if I should go to 4.88 instead of 4.56? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks. It was hell finding a house in this market but ultimately worked out. Now the real fun begins. :sawzall:

The house has a goldfish pond so you'll have to tell me how to keep these things alive. The owner told me they just eat the stuff that occurs naturally in the pond which is interesting.

Thanks! Yes, still in TN. It's a basement rancher with a huge 2 car garage which was my ONLY requirement for our next house.

Ooooo....more Tundra projects and out of the weather.....congrats

While I'm here, it's about time to do some crawling under the Tundra to check a few things....ball joints, drive train, shocks etc. IF I wanted to consider leveling, where do I even start.
The front is 34 to frame and rear is 36. Everything is still stock and some things, springs, rear leafs are orig. I only haul maybe twice a year....5x8 trailer, dirt, pallot of sod and still would want to be able to do that. It is time I'm sure that shocks be changed.

From what I do know, if the pond is well established then you don't really need to feed them. You can buy pellets to throw at them when you just want to see them eat but don't over do it (control the mangler). Goldfish varieties and koi are some of the highest waste producing fish known to man, so if you feed them too much they'll produce an amonia spike that can be really bad for the water. You'll want to get familiar with the filter and the maintenance of it. You don't want to clean it too much and use pond water when you do. The bacteria in the filter needs to stay alive to keep the water clean.

See if you can chat with the current owner to learn what his maintenance schedule has been like and if the pond is deep enough not to freeze in Winter. During Winter if the pond is deep enough the fish will survive and shouldn't be fed at all during the cold season.

Looks beautiful, I'm very jealous already.

Bilstein 5100's are really popular. It just depends on how much you want to spend. They would allow you to bring the front up to match the rear and you could replace the rear shocks if you want. In my experience, replacing my rear shocks did nothing to improve the ride quality.

Take a look at this one:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/how-big-is-yours-measure-up.46186/page-2

Hub to fender eliminates tire size from the equation.

The current owner talked our heads off about the pond but I only retained about half of what she said. She did confirm exactly what you wrote. They only feed them occasionally for fun and that they eat the algae that grows on the side of it. In the winter they put some sort of cover on it but it doesn't hurt the fish and she said it won't freeze. They are going to leave us all their supplies. I don't even think she mentioned cleaning it. I'll have to look that up.

I learned you need to “winterize” your pond as well. Clean it as best possible and a decent water change before the cold hits due to the fish immune system slows down in the winter and can’t fight off parasites(ich) as easily as when it’s warmer out(ich can’t survive warmer water temps)
I had to throw a heater in mine when they got sick, which sped up their eating habits, I feed mine a crap ton, but it’s all gone when I come check back in a few minutes

No. They’re 17”. That’s it. Oh and 7.5” width. But they’re like 140 new. So cheap

I think you’ll really enjoy pond life, it’s soo soothing to just sit and listen. Mines right by the bbq, so I get into a trance when I’m grilling sometimes. I’ve got multiple colored koi but a really cool “black” koi, almost like a ghost in the water. I have a calico one that’s about a foot long, he’s the biggest but the others are catching up quickly315147DF-6552-4B8F-A79E-9733BBBE7AEC.jpg

Our Birds of Prey come in and complete the cycle of life on any fish in a shallow pond. Its like shooting fish in a barrel to them.

I’ve spotted a hawk on my waterfall, that’s honestly why I wanted any of it to begin with, I’m a bird man! But I’ve got air defenses in place, but we also have rucoons here that nothing stops them image.jpgThey hang out under the rock and under the leafs.

It’s funny I’ve had him almost as long as the big calico, but he’s the smallest!
The all white and orangie looking one I got last summer and are getting close to the calico size

Are any of you pond people doing this in the Midwest? How much time is involved per year? How much money is involved once it is setup?
