My mistake. When you said I "did all the bulbs" I thought you meant you replaced them with LED's. What did you do with them?

The connections on the bulb base twost socket. 20200729_093058.jpg
Bent them up slightly with a flat blade screw driver for improved contact on the circuit board in the HVAC bezel. Here is what it looks like after.

(Pink circles.) Check out the heat damage from the old incandescent bulbs. I think these leds are 3 years old? Much cooler running.

Just be careful buying aftermarket sockets cause I tried them and they failed. Their ‘notches’ were too wide to fit into the hole and the socket couldn’t turn to lock...make sense? I would go to the dealer for those but I’m not sure what they’d charge.

While driving to work I kicked the AC on briefly to evacuate the majority of the heat in the cab out quickly. Realized that my HVAC removal this morning fixed the "recoil" on my Hot/cold knob. BONUS!
    20200729_174016.jpg
By recoil I mean as I turned the knob to full cold it would bounce back one tooth, or click towards the hot side. NG. I knew it was an issue, but was going to dive in on that one at a later date.

I got the old lady a bit muddy, so I decided it was time for another wash. She shines up good still!

I'm going to take her with me to Arizona to get some loving done. She will be getting a proper tune from a Dyno in Phoenix and then I'll be picking up everything I'll need for a 4wd swap from the area too.

The reason for the tune is because I want to run my AEM air filter, but my unichip tune is set up for the K&N filter. I get about 18mpg with the k&n and about 8-10mpg with the AEM. I'm hoping to run a filter that actually keeps dust out of my cylinders.

I had the same thing going on and the lube job fixed it. Gotta love the simple things. Plus seeing that knob not go all the way to cold and stay there was really pissing me off! Haha

Took her for a drive. No wind noise with the new mirrors. There is a little wiggle at speed but it’s not bad at all. The amount of real estate I can see with these is amazing though. I feel like it’s 2-3 1st gen tundra mirrors!

What mirrors did you put on? And you note about no wind noise: is that in comparison to the stock mirrors?

The Silver/Metallics paint seem to be holding the best after all these years, especially those that were washed and waxed on occasion.

    Looking nice!

Did the PHM lumbar seat mod just now using material from our first Purple Carrot order. It does seem to feel better. Also adjusted my tailgate which helped a lot.

Might've fixed a couple things. I swear I read in the owner's manual (who the hell reads that?!) when you kick over that last hump to go to 'max cool' it forces defrost mode to engage? Or was it Recirc? I forget. If either is true and you weren't able to stay at the max setting, it wasn't happening.

Got some new tires today! It's roadworthy now.

Also, I'm about to find out what is behind here... My interior is fairly nasty, as it has been an abused work truck its whole life, and it's been smoked for that entirety. It looks like the fabric is yearning to be free, so I'm gonna oblige. Am I in for any weird surprises behind curtain number 1?

You will probably need to remove a couple of pieces to cleanly remove the fabric and it should just be raw plastic on the back side. Some of the foam backing on the fabric may choose to stay on the plastic.

Thank you. All of that sounds manageable. When the sun sets a bit, I'm gonna tackle it. Anything is better than me compulsively picking at it over the next several months.

I asked about the rust colored ones and it's from your spark plug tube seal needing to be replaced. 2 of mine are the same.
