Changed my oil after a 2000+ mile road trip, with camping, light offroading, and most importantly, backcountry skiing. Washed, vacuumed, and spruced up the interior too. Good as new. I really do like these weather tech matts... Can't believe I never had em before.

My truck now has the signature front end pops at low speed turns and in parking lots, but other than that it did great.

Where do y'all like to see photos and trip reports of cool places and camps and whatnot?

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Truck stuff today, pulled the 2 satellite dishes out that were in the back yard. I decided to use a log instead of one of my winter tires for some up leverage.
All that talk about straps failing and horrible shit happening had me cringing just a little.

Ride the horses down thru the Hoodoos at Bryce? Of all the trails I've ridden over the years that one was special.

Started repairing my TRD mud flaps/fender flares tonight. An offroad incident claimed one and a lady on narcotics claimed the other. Once I get them all stapled they'll get a nice layer of JB weld. Anyone know where I can get the paint matched fender flare gap trim/seal/rubber? I have some black that I can use but it'd be nice to have the correct color matched trim.

    I know, right? :p

I justify the trailer-less driving by thinking "I'm getting more experience driving her."

Anyway today we did pull the smaller (6' x 12') trailer and mowed three yards. The grass was wet this morning so we got a late start.

I also found out that the upper / smaller center console storage area has a clip to hold documents like (I guess) your registration and insurance. Pretty neat. Lots of neat things with this truck.

I leveled my truck with stock TRD springs on 3rd notch 5100s and bent my brand new stock length links very quickly so I wouldn't say that's always the case.

You can still buy the flaps new (or you could a few years ago). There's a couple part numbers visible in this post from @shifty` and if you're interested I'm sure he would post up the part numbers.

Crazy. I ran 5100s at the 4th notch for almost 15 years on OEM sway bar end links with the only issue being it would eat the bushings over time from the angle. Finally swapped to SMaxx in the last year.

Someone posted up a replacement alternative for the rubber seal. I can probably find it later. Also, what Nick said.

There is no such thing as pull, the tow ball was pushing on the front of the strap.

I did spend some time in Moab right after replacing them, so that probably didn't do them any favors.

Ok, so, fender rubbers bead trim seal gasket whatever: https://www.tundras.com/threads/whe...-cab-1g-part-numbers-help.85577/#post-3920940
And for the larger plastic mud flaps: https://www.tundras.com/threads/looking-to-buy-rear-mud-flaps.134921/#post-3418809

I still can't find where someone posted a more price-friendly rubber seal gasket thingy (aftermarket) but it only came in black, and quite a few trucks that didn't have black fender flares used the grey seal. Meh. But at ~$20/ea, I guess maybe not that bad?

I can look up replacement fender flares for your truck but would need to know the trim package (Base, SR5, Limited) or have your VIN to look up the correct part numbers.

Speaking of @Desert Dog I never saw him at T2S even though he lives in AZ and said he was going.

@Weagle was it you who found the less-expensive aftermarket rubber trim that goes around the fender flares?

I'd have to look back at the master thread, but I'm guessing 5100s on the 3rd notch is a lot more lift than 2883s on the bottom notch. But yeah, no one gets exactly the same results when they start modifying their suspension it seems like.

According to Bilstein, for 4WD V8 AC, that would offer 1.1" lift, should be around the same as you'd expect to get for OME 2884, IIRC, and the 2884 on bottom notch would probably fell hella better, but that's not the topic at hand. Not mentioned is how harsh the ride probably is over stock, but that's probably subjective. I also think their numbers are wack, because for a Sequoia 4WD to get 0.6" more lift than a Tundra DC 4WD sounds dubious at best.

If I had to do it again with the info I know now, this is the route I would go, however I think the ride is fine now as is.

Bottom notch is best notch. The 650# billies are 15.6”, and the 700# billies are 16”, so i might move up to those, but i doubt i’ll ever raise the preload.

"Butt hurt" is incorrect. Annoyed is a better term. I'm working on getting my business put together, getting a new water heater, and saving for another truck.

i got more important things on my plate than a mid-tier forum constantly regurgitating the same info over and over and over and over again

thats why AC’s are best. dc guys can get a ford or chevy thats old enough to be reliable & not worry about the size, let alone the angle of the dangle. Truck is truck sized.
