That's the same one I have. I've been using 3 oz Chemical Guys Mr Pink and filling the rest with water.

Put the front hood stone and bug deflector on. It was NOT easy and had to grind down deflector to fit but like the look.

Took my fender flares and mud flaps off because i was bored, and i LOVE it. Tires stick out maybe 1/2” now and the truck gives the illusion its a little higher.

Chris, do you think that I could use blue Locktite #243 (medium strength) on my four bolts into the spindle? I don't have red...

Blue locktite is better than nothing. Just make sure to retorque after 500 miles or sooner if you want.

Heads up: O’Reillys Automotive has Mobil1 ‘Advance Full Synthetic’ on sale for $30 for 5 gallon jug. Normally $45.

Bought some OEM spark plugs NGK’s BKR6EYA for replacements in near future. Yew!

Thanks. Stand corrected! I’d become an oil sales middleman at 5gal for $30.

Well, not technically something I did "today", but I more or less finished it today, so that counts, right?

I wrote a bunch of stuff here, but decided it belonged better in my build thread so here's just a pic of the "finished" (for now) project.

Looking good. What process did you use? I’ve used the 3M polishing kit in the past (prior to replacing headlights entirely because the restoration didn’t last long). I’m of the opinion that just a simple alcohol cleaning and then spraying them with an acrylic clear coat is the way to go (cost and time wise). Same results.

I bought a restoration kit from target, believe it or not. Costed $20. Came with some special liquid that you put on a pad that was included, you wipe it on and scrub until it turns into a frosty texture, then get a damp cloth and wipe it clean off. It looks close to clear by then. Then you spray the sealant that it came with, and it makes it look even clearer. Worked great for being $20. We’ll see how long it lasts

That sounds like the 3M process and cost.

Wow. Its been a few years, but do not remember them being that much. I remember going cheapy on price due to not knowing the future of the truck. Been about 4 years and they look brand new still. Saved the lamps from the old ones and put in the globebox just in case!

Picked up a Leer shell in pretty good shape in Reno on road trip for $800. Like the higher roof of the shell but I think I lost one gallon in MPG. Still, had a great time on roadtrip up through Reno, South Lake Tahoe, and Sacramento. Went to Sacramento State Fair.

Nice - good find! Looks like almost exactly what I'm looking for. If you want your 1mpg back, I'll swap you my regular height shell for that one - or my hard tonneau cover! ;-)

Gave the Sequoia a bath, clay bar and 2 coats of cleaner wax. It was really bad. I haven’t given it a proper bath since I bought it. It’s probably been waxed 10 times in its whole life if that. Probably mostly gas station car washes. I wished I had ironx! But I went at it because I couldn’t make it any worse lol. The oxidation was like milk running off when I was washing and claying it.

She’s got her war wounds but it’s presentable.
The wheels were caked with dirt and brake dust in all the tight spots.

I like the survivor feel its got though.
