Speaking of welding cool little stuff...

I welded up a phone mount using the useless cup holder area in my dash.

Also installed some exterior lights for the camper.

And of course made some Corned Beef and cabbage!

If you get the settings right and everything is prepped AND you use a good wire. The welds will be plenty strong.

Think it's best to detach the brake cable from the bellcrank and adjust the brake shoes first then the bellcrank to 1mm and pb cable in that order.

How much do you have left at the lowest depth?

If I ever decide on any permanent coms, that might be where they go. But for now I'll stick with handhelds. I've got a switch panel where my sunglass holder/garage door opener flap was

I 100% agree. I welded in high school with a friend. No real training or anything. I bought a HF welder 10 years ago and use it about once a year to bail myself out of something. Totally worth it and lots of fun. Easier than it looks to make non-structural stuff.

    Lowest depth on the shoes?
I saw something about detaching the cable also but it wasn't on here it was on YT. I assume you mean adjusting shoes with the star after detaching, then remove any slack then reattach?
There's about a 1/16th" space between screw and plate now.

The way they were set the screw was on the backing plate, been that way since I got it never messed with it til the other day. I have new innards for the drums except the shoes because I realized I had a plugged bleeder a while back so I didn't go through with the refresh being as the shoes had some life left but they were worn a little unevenly...

Was just asking how worn your shoes are. I think it's 1mm on the bellcrank IIRC and whole procedure is in the thread along with the FSM pages for reference on the bellcrank. Very helpful. Find its easiest to remove the drum to adjust the shoes and also can clean-out all the dust. Have even regreased the adjuster and backing plate if shoes have life but some would opt to replace shoes instead given basically the same labor.

Chili isn't chili without beans. You're one of those weirdos that puts corn and carrots in your chili, aren't you?

BBQ sauce. Cold or hot? I hate it when restaurants apply it cold. Like WTF? Cook it into the meat.
