I should have done that with the leaf springs. I always mean well, but I never take any pictures :sorry:.

If you ever need me to recite how to do something, no problem...remembering to take pics? Whoops, I'm already done lol.

Yeah, I'm already taking a pretty substantial loss at the list price. It's kicking my ass. Especially with my current employment situation...

Nah, it's generally positive news. The change was welcome, and will ultimately work out in my favor.

Oh, well then... have a "like"!

I'm awaiting my fate as well... either getting a promotion, or getting fired lol. At this point, either one might be a positive. More time to work on my truck.

Also, sorry in advance to anyone who needed a new gas door. I bought the last one in the world...

    @The Black Mamba

LOL no way! At least you just need the cylinder. I had to break the cylinder a long time ago (it broke, while locked, while at a gas station, while out of gas!). The door itself finally came off last week.

Frick! I ended up having to shell out $90 for the cylinder (most of the cost is the TWO keys they give you). And they don't give you the little doo-hickey that actually holds the cylinder in place.

Sadly, freight is just the cost of doing business.

Some a$$hole told me that once... but he wasn't wrong.

the funny thing is that lately I've been buying OEM parts made in USA shipped from Japan through Amayana cheaper than I can get it from a dealer 25 miles away...

Well, double damn. I forgot that finding a 16x7 wheel, with 0 offset, that actually looks cool, is like finding a gas door for a 1st gen.

Guess I'm going with the Black Rhino Chambers...a 16x8 with -10 offset. That would get me to like, 4.15" back spacing.

I bought mine from ATS directly and paid $420 for both leaf packs $65 for the extended u-bolts, and about $100 for shipping.

My @shifty` approved clamps arrived today. I’m leaving the j hooks there because why not:notsure:

Also, on my way home I thought I saw a gap at the right side of the rear window. So I stopped to see if I was just seeing things. Turns out, I was right. The bottom right side popped a rivet (probably a while ago) and the glass was starting to slide out. Fixed:thumbsup:

Socal Truck. the frame is perfect. I'm guessing PO had a cheap window replacement, and when it started leaking he tried sealing it with caulking. Kept the moisture trapped and rusted within. Shop I took it to has done a handful of these repairs.

Got a misfire on cylinder 1 last night leaving a comedy show, pulled the coil this morning which pulled the plastic insert for the coil wiring harness out, grabbed a spare coil and put the plastic piece back in the harness and all as well. Should probably get a new set of coils coming..

Back in the day they didn’t have that ratcheting sharp wire to cut out windshields that were glued in and they used handheld scrapers which invariably damaged the paint on the window frames. We had a car in Phoenix that I had to remove the windshield and repaint that area when it started rusting after a new windshield. upload_2024-1-12_15-42-55.jpg

A LOT of places still cut the glass out and shred the A-Pillars, headliner and ADAS wire harnesses.....We completed a corrective windshield replacement as SafeLite cut through the harness and told the customer to go to a dealer for recalibrations. Of course you can't recalibrate a cut wire harness.
