oddly enough i'm having a similar issue. I repaired the front oem speakers with the simply speakers repair kit and they sound great. but i'm noticing the tweeters are crackling a bit, and i hate it. did you ever solve this?

Number one comment from others who don't own a Tundra after driving 200K miles....

    "You still driving that thing?"

Not yet. I'm holding off on messing with it until I get a new head unit and the factory amp bypass harness. I'm leaning towards it either being a head unit issue (OEM) or the factory amp issue (JBL system). I planned on upgrading the audio anyway so this will just be a process of elimination.

I'm going to open up my door panels again and see if the wires are pinching anywhere. Both the tweeters don't look like they are damaged at all

yes it is. decided to keep running the stock head unit/amp and just fix the front speakers, will likely replace the rear speakers.

I was going to wash the snow off the undercarriage of my truck but apparently the 1’-1.5’ deep puddles around here did that for me.

On my way to work a little bridge I cross was underwater, kinda deep under. I said F' it & accelerated. Whee! Matching Rooster Tails taller than the truck on each side. I figure that cleaned off the Wool Wax - can't let that get dirty.

ATS HD leaf packs were installed today to help with carrying the camper. What a difference they made! No more floaty, harsh ride.

I still have the stock (non-TRD) struts and springs equipped, and the truck went from sitting approximately level to having a slight rake with the camper. I have yet to experience them without the camper. Hoping the Bilstein 5100s with OME 2884 springs coming soon will make it ride even better.

Had this truck for a little over a year. Last rain started coming through the headliner. Found some caulking at the top of the windshield the PO had applied. pulled it out and found some rust. Took it to my buddys shop to diagnose. He is going to cut out the cancer and weld in new steel.

The time is finally come for wheels and tires. Going to order by the end of the week.

Still bouncing between keeping the wheels at 16" or moving to 17", mainly because I have the WL calipers and want to do the upgrade. I remember some members mentioning that they got away with the large calipers on an aftermarket, 16" wheel, but maybe they didn't make that much of a difference for the time and effort...

    Toyo Open Country RT's is where I'm leaning. 285/70 if I go 17" and 285/75 if I stay 16".

As I type this, the offset will probably play a factor in the calipers too, huh? Maybe I'll just stick with 16" at a 0 offset...

    *brain explodes*

295/75r16 or 285/75r17 is my vote.
    33.5x11.5 vs 34x11
I'd go with some Spidertrax if you go 0 offset. I think -12mm is the sweet spot IIRC.

I thought about those sizes, but if I keep it at 32.8 I shouldn't have to worry about much rubbing. 0 offset on a 16" should put me at 4" backspacing, below the 4.25-4.5 that most people get to with a spacer...unless my thinking is backwards and 4" backspacing actually get me closer to suspension than further away... brain explodes again...

Really trying to do all I can to put the least amount of extra stress on the lbjs.

0 should be fine with 285/75r16. I rubbed frame with 0 offset and 295's so I got Spidertrax. Had to trim a just little more than I had to for the tires prior to spacers

Dude you still got those?! If my truck wasn't desert sand mica, I might take you up on that.

Probably going with these just to get it done...affordability, ya know? Spend more on the tires. Then, maybe in a few years, I'll get the black rhino shredders I love.

looks great! How much do these run? Going to get something done in the back in a few months. The front is already up 2" from the previous owner.
