Washed it. Then clay bar, then Maguires professional show car glaze, then Maguires NXT tech wax 2.0. Long freaking day! All by hand. Now I’ll just keep up on the wax till next year.

Here’s a couple photos but they don’t do it justice. My forward facing camera is shot so these are just with the selfie camera.

I just realized I posted this in the first GEN thread. I do have a first GEN Sequoia. Sorry guys. LOL

Fixed my broken tailgate handle today. Makes things much more convenient now! The last 10 days or so has sucked with it not working and having to haul things up and over the tailgate and through the window of my camper top.

Jake, your Tundra looks great! Hey, are those rims 17" and from a 4Runner? I have a chance to buy the same ones but was told they wouldn't fit my 01 AC... did you have to use spacers or something?

Edited... read your build and the answer was right there.

I’m gonna guess it was a good deal for him assuming that both vehilces were salvaged and he had the skills to do the swap overs. Also, knowing the right people in the business helps with things like machining and paint. For us average Joes it would be cost prohibitive. I am curious too, but live by the adage ‘if you have to ask then you can’t afford it’.

No spacers, Technically I still haven't driven my own truck farther than 20 feet but my mother-in-law drove it to a couple shops around Prescott to get it dialed in and she says it drives with no issues. My FIL also says the same thing. I will assume there is no issues but until I drive it like I am wanting to, I don't know!

So, my FIL owns a body a shop in Prescott, AZ. He was telling me that if someone came in with the wrecked Tundra like the first picture in my Build Thread plus with all the body work and paint/ time to fix it up it would be well over $7,000. I will tell you what painters/ shops should tell you - The price to do a vehicle depends on how you want it to look. If you have a solid truck, no body work needed (if you have dents I always recommend taking them out because then whats the point of spending money on paint when itll look bad with dents.. you know?) and if you didn't want to do the door jambs, it'll cost around $1500 to $2500 depending on whether or not its a single stage paint/ or Base Clear (BC) and how many coats of clear is put on. If your honestly considering it, start by getting a quote and then working with the shop - there are plenty of parts you can take off and leave at home that will not only make the truck look better in the end but save you cost of time for their guys to take it all off. Shoot me a DM if you want any information I can do my best or at least get the answers!

I would agree with Professional Hand Model on the fact that it all depends on who you know but at the same time, the truck swap was super easy. It was just time consuming and required quite a bit of work space. The most expensive tool I used was a body guys overly priced air impact gun to take off the leaf spring connections from the frame.

NP! Give me a chance to get her washed up. It’s a little worse for wear. Had a long life of taking care of my sisters family until I bought it off her. Had a few fenders repainted poorly but it runs like a top and almost everything still works.

OK it’s dirty but my wife parked it at the bottom of the driveway because we’re going to swap cars. It gets driven a couple days every few weeks. It’s going to be my daughters car. Maybe! I’m afraid she’s going to hit something she’s not very good yet. She might have to drive my wife’s 08XB but it’s manual. She’s got her permit but we might have to hit some parking lots again before I let her go back out on the road.

My Fumoto oil drain valve showed up today. Just waiting for the hose and safety clip to show up, then it's oil change time. Going to change the air filter as well, though it probably doesn't need it.

What do you guys like for oil filters? Toyota OEM or do you buy something else? I won't touch Fram with a 10ft pole but I've heard great things about the NAPA filters which are actually Wix filters rebranded.

Looks good to me! A sequoia may be a bit too much for a beginner. XB definitely more maneuverable. I remember going thru this with my sons. Nerve racking! But I taught them early when they were 12 in an old pos Saturn I inherited from my mom. Good luck!

Thanks! We almost hit quite a few park cars. Then she would drive almost on the other side of the street. Trying to teach her how to pass cars that are coming the other direction by ducking between parked cars. We like the Sequoia because it’s big and safe but she’s tiny. She’s only 5’2” lol
My thoughts exactly. I’d like to get an old TC for her. Toyota quality at ridiculously cheap prices. Plus it’s not something I’m in love with LOL I take care of all of our cars and I’m not looking forward to the bumps and bruises ahead haha.
