What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Digging into my electrical mess I’ve got going on because of my slight boo boo pinning a connector… my dimmer does nothing. Unplugging it, the lights stay on the dash with headlights on. So moving down the line. Apparently I have fried the board for the HVAC and it’s back feeding current through the ground. DOH. Tomorrow I shall test with my other center stack… hopefully I have a correctly working illumination circuit again and can carry on with More important things

 

Finally replaced my drivers window motor.

$50 on eBay. Only 2 out of the 3 screws lined up but it still worked. At first the button was operating in the opposite direction, so I cut and spliced the wires in reverse and it fixed it.

Now I can roll my window down on a hot summer day haha

 

You couldn't just re-pin the plug reverse of what it was?

Curious, what was the part number, if new, and did the plug otherwise line up and stuff?

Yeah, I guess. Figured it was easy enough with wire nuts. Didn't want to break the one way plastic connector.

Much better air flow thru the coils with it mounted flush. Auxbeam controller is what I’m using for switching capabilities.

 

How's it mounted? With double stick tape?

This is what a lot of the guys with 67-72 pickups were running bitd also, but always for street driving. I've never seen how they hold up to offroad.

 

Those little push pin things are what my V6 OEM transmission cooler was mounted to my OEM radiator with. Came from the factory that way so it must be good. I wish I had pictures.... They lasted until 2019 or 2020.

 

Wasn't technically today, but in the last couple weeks, I have put Spider Trax 1.25" wheel spacers on the front and back, and replaced the carrier bearing. Set off to redo the u joints as well, but decided mid replacement the headache would be too much.

I still have some more trimming, but happy with the progress so far.

Nothing today but tomorrow is the time to order parts like my LCAs and RC 2.5” strut spacer to get my tires back in alignment since it’s a tax free weekend.

Already wore out the inner edge of my front two tires. Need to buy two more to get it through inspection once again this year.

When will the cycle of repair ever stop? lol

Won't stop the repairs, but you won't have to do them.

 

I miss those days. Hopefully in the next year supply will increase and lower the asking price.

 

A day late, but replaced my tailgate handle that recently broke. Rainforest Chinesium.

 

I haven't washed my truck in months because its too damn hot. Saw some local high schoolers today doing a car wash fundraiser thing, so I got a much needed wash.

 

....and they raised funds. win-win

 

I still haven’t washed mine since my sons school had a fund raiser, they did a terrible job, but I tipped them well

Water methanol is on. Truck feels good, bit smoother in high rpms.

You painted your front bumper, yeah? Sorry don't mean to go off topic but it just caught my eye. I thought all the earlier models with the small chrome flares had a chrome bumper as well. Looks good either way for a truck high on meth. haha. Really tho, lookin good.

 

QTP wireless one touch controller came in. Installed today and programmed fobs to my home link Mirror. Controller under the centerconsole, range on the fobs is roughly the same as my standard key fob for the truck locks too
