Thanks! Tons of data on the 1.0.kit, so plenty to roll with. Par for the course on my implementation: safety, safety and more safety since my focus towing duty. More to share as we dial it in before my fathers day weekend tow into the mountains, which will be the toughest test to date for the turbo. Jesse @TurboKits.com is all over it, though! Looking forward to getting it locked in. Once that is done, injectors and pump are the only barriers to "going plaid" (for the Spaceballs fans).

Edit: oh!!! I have another Blackstone sample going in specifically for the stage 1.0 testing for 2k miles after the 500 mile break-in.

Looks great!! Another thing to mention as I am sure people have noticed. The MAF housing bulge is gone. This is another byproduct of having a higher flowing MAF sensor. :)

    HA HA HA, Plaid! :mudding:

I was at a school event tonight. Just sent you 2 more maps to continue to dial things in. I have the scouts event tomorrow with the 6yo, but should have a window around 10AM to look at logs and revise before we head out! I'll be around most Sunday afternoon as well.

    Thanks again!

Well, I guess that didn't last long. It's now private. It was showing via oil analysis what happens to engine oil when boost is added. Basically, a lowering of oil viscosity an increase in fuel, water, and wear materials suggesting that an increase in the viscosity of the oil that is use might be warranted. It's a bit more complicated due to things like boost level and engine use case, but basically.

Analysis is in the mail. We'll see - I did decide to jump up to 0w-30 as part of this journey and I'll be getting 2 more analysis done. It'll give the same engine NA, Stage 1, Stage 1.5 and Stage 2. It'll help provide some insight and determine a safe OCI. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious what the results for this sample will show.

Maybe @Jego can help you out on that. Lol

My setup is anything but a burnout machine. Maybe Stage 2 will give me all I need to get there, though.

Small update: the intercooler is giving me ambient +2-3* so I'm pretty pumped about that.

Another small update: tuning is coming along, despite me finding out what a blown coupler sounds and behaves like. Zero set back and an easy fix.

Jesse @TurboKits.com has been all over things this weekend, despite it being a personal celebration and one fill with family obligations. Thank you

Yeah, when we were installing the intercooler and moving and installing the new larger trans cooler, we forgot to add a clamp to the coupler / pipe connection under the headlight, since we were just preinstalling it for a later date, we figured we would circle back when we added the rest of the intercooler piping. Needless to say, it slipped all our minds... DOH! I'm sure Brian had a small heart attack when he heard the pop and lost power. It's quite jarring if you've never experienced it before. Anyway, clamp heading out FEDEX OVERNIGHT today and we'll be back to it shortly. Good news, it was well BEFORE the MAF, on the turbo to intercooler side of the piping, so should not have hindered our tuning progress this weekend.

@bflooks, no worries, as I said from the beginning, we are with you step by step on this to assure everything is set, well ahead of your own family obligations! When you're creeping up on 50yo, birthdays are just another day! LOL

Besides, this is how we rock BDays for Dad at our house! LOL... Love these AHoles!

Absolutely, solid info, turbos are pretty "dumb" when it comes to oil, so they can take anything from thin to super thick and don't care.

At our house, I forget what the tune is, but we usually sing the following:

    Happy Birthday.
    Happy Birthday.
    Misery, misery in the air,
    People dying everywhere,
    Happy Birthday.

Thanks again @TurboKits.com for overnighting the clamp!

As an update, clamp is installed and more logging (into positive boost this round) happened this afternoon. The tune is def coming along and I'm looking forward to the next Dragy times, be cause the seat Dyno says they're improving.

First tow with the intercooler is next Thursday. For anyone familiar, this is into the White Mountains of New Hampshire (right up to the base of Mount Washington) and then 45 minutes due West into VT (about 30 minutes east of Montpelier).

A few brighter install photos of the intercooler and piping.

Chipping away at it a little each day. Got to do a few pulls in 3rd and 4th to 5500rpm at 20% wastegate duty cycle. 4th caught the wife's attention, and it was only at 1.9PSI.

@TurboKits.com is currently reviewing logs from a few mid-3PSI pulls, but I'm def excited to get some Dragy numbers after it is all locked in. It's everything I was hoping it would become, and the wife's reaction made me realize just how far it's come this last round. She's, ummm, just like Shania Twain when it comes to guys with fast cars.

Solid work, Jesse! I'll leave it to you to share whatever you want from the logs since you can better articulate why I'm excited.

I'm using the v3 nozzle with 500cc pintle. I started off with 250cc then moved up to 500cc. Different applications but I'm spraying a 30/70 methanol/water mix. Which is -20 winter washer fluid. Just make sure it sprays well into the upper rpms as it can bog it down if rpms are low. At least with AEM you are ramp it up. I'm spraying fully from 8-14psi.

Did you already have an AEM water/meth installed? Apologies for not remembering. If not, are you positive you didn't get V3 with your kit?

Hey Jego, per your packing list and layout pic, you have the AEM Water Meth from us and it uses the V3 nozzle. We sell quite a few of those, so I can't even think there would be a chance of an older V2 in the inventory.

    Kit Layout:
    upload_2024-6-7_10-1-49.png

Check for these Pintles. You'll want to use the 500cc and have it start at about 2 PSI and max at 5 PSI:
    upload_2024-6-7_10-0-0.png

    Can you confirm?

Nice, I can't see that hurting being in PR, you don't have the colder weather where the TB coolant is used to bring the temps up on cold days.

Nice, I will do the coolant bypass! It is strange the model num. for the AEM kit is 30-3300. The install guide link has the V3 but the guide refers to v2.

Nop because the molle I ordered to install the tank is delayed. Per Amazon status should be delivered today. I am ok with it, it can be upgraded :)

Oh, I thought you had it all open and had the older nozzle. The 30-3300 is the correct part# and the pic shows the correct V3 nozzle as we would have expected. So you are all set!

Quick update on the intercooler performance on Stage 1.5 - towing tests.

After 45 minutes of towing and then heading into a ~1minute consistent pull of 0.0-1.8PSI at 90+% calculated load, the IATs peaked at 100* (ambient is 84*). Engine coolant temps have barely taken a hit as well. Peak temp was 201*, averaged in the low/mid 190*s. Pretty excited.
