The secret code "Crazycatlady" gets you 100% off but your delivery date resets to two weeks every time you check on or inquire about your shipment, hence never receiving the items.

Just FYI, I ordered stuff for both the 4R and Tundra. They shipped all but the Cat guards the day after my order was placed. I inquired, and they said (as I suspected) the Cat guards are not in stock and could be a few weeks. Imagine they're like everyone else and selling more units than they can produce each day.

I ordered stuff for the Tacoma and Tundra yesterday. I spoke to Evan at RCI and as you said, they're trying to catch up. They have stuff in stock for the Tacoma because it's been out a few extra weeks, but it sounds like demand for the Tundra has been high.

So many times I almost ordered from Valhalla. I'm glad I waited and I appreciate RCI coming through with a product. I can wait a little longer.

I placed an order for a skidplate package with cat guards on Wednesday and it shipped Thursday. Should arrive today or Monday. Looks as if the cat guards will be a later shipment but I was surprised at how quick mine were shipped.

It basically comes next day if you ship in Colorado. RCI and Rocky Mounts are next day delivery.

I was going to go pick mine up but ended up paying the extra $60 to have it shipped.

I really wish these would have come out a few months ago. I went the Valhalla route but now I'm sitting on a trans skid that I can't really sell because the mounting bracket is bent a little. Honestly might just scrap it :pout:.

What? Don't scrap it... sell it at a discounted cost. Unless you bought the thicker plates from Valhalla..... the RCI will be a better skid

I suppose I could do that, maybe RCI would sell just the bracket too. The skid is 1/4" aluminum, the Valhalla shields are 1/8" steel, I definitely should have went thicker, they are no where near the strength the RCI skid is, granted I don't do anything crazy in the truck.

I have a RCI front skid on the Tacoma already. My transmission skid with pre-drilled holes and cat guards shipped today. I should have them tomorrow.

Go on RCI's site under scratch and dent, they sell replacement parts and hardware kits by model. I picked up new hardware for my engine skid when I moved it off my old truck to my new one.

Used the code 22Tundra and just placed an order for the transmission skid and cat guards. My OCD got the best of me, I have the RCI front skid so I just HAD to get the rest to match. These will replace the existing front and rear 1/4" raw aluminum Talons Garage cat skids I put on a month ago. Hopefully I can sell those and recoup some of my money back.

Im with you in liking the RCI products. I have the RCI engine skid and Valhalla’s front and rear cat plates. While I like RCIs cat plate design I’m not about to go through the trouble of moving it. Valhalla’s Plate does a good job. BTW, I have Talons cat plate on my sons Tacoma since Valhalla does not have a Tacoma offering. I am not impressed with the Talon plate. Inferior build quality.

I'm in a weird spot. Ordered complete set from Valhalla on, ironically, April fools day, and in the meantime put the RCI full kit with cat wings on my father's Tacoma. Really impressed with the RCI product. With that being said, I am very big on supporting smaller companies though and have convinced myself that it's a win/win if I wait on Valhalla, even if it ends up being about $500 more, if my early morning math is correct. If, by chance, the cat's get stolen in the meantime and I don't catch them in the act and end up in jail, I'll just do a minimum aftermarket converter and exhaust conversion, maybe skip the converter altogether (is that even feasible?) either getting the TRD exhaust or maybe one of the other ones I've seen on this site that sound so terrific.

I did on my 4Runner yesterday. Tundra guards haven't shipped out yet.

    Took me forever. Mostly because:

    * Spent an hour trying to figure out how the wings aligned and where to drill the holes. Largely because I don't do fabrication often and was paranoid about screwing it up. That said, a simple idiot proof sticker or even paper template would have been awesome.

    * Spent a couple hours drilling the holes with my cheap, dull hardware store drill bits. When I finally remembered I had a bit sharpener (inherited from father in law), the last 2 went in about 5 minutes.

    * My 4R is the Trail model (2014, before it became "Off Road"), so I had front and engine skids - thus only bought trans and TC skid from RCI. Spent another hour or so figuring out bolts and modifying the engine skid to work. If I had it to do over, I'd buy the whole package from RCI and trash the factory skids.
    20220527_171851.jpg

    * Forgot to add, I spent an hour painting the newly drilled holes in the RCI skid. That includes a quick lunch break while letting it dry

    * Once I got going actually installing the plates it went pretty smooth. One thing I had to figure out, the rear crossmember mounted in the hole where some brake lines were secured on the drivers side. I had to remove that bolt and slide the crossmember tab up under that mounting plate and bolt the two together. That was not mentioned in the instructions, but was not hard to figure out.

After all is done, I'm thinking lubricating the front driveshaft zerks will be an absolute pain in the ass. But not as bad as having cats stolen, so I can live with it. At some point in the future I will likely go ahead and purchase the front/engine RCI skid and do away with the stock bits. It's amazing how flimsy they are in comparison to RCI. Plus, I think it will all just fit together better.

Overall, very happy with the product. Just not looking forward to drilling out those holes when my Tundra cat guards arrive! I do need to get some security bolts, as this would not take long for someone who is prepared to zip out the current bolts and drop plates on the ground. Perhaps an assortment so they get pissed at having to swap out a half dozen different bits/sockets?

@Jernik most of the thieves are using angle grinders and reciprocating saws to steal them (usually both). I don't think security bolts would make a difference, as they will just grind off the bolt heads if they really want your Cats.

My thought for getting protection is, they will see the guards taking an extra 10-15 minutes of noise and potentially be seen, so move on to the next vehicle.

I thought I read here that someone came out to find their skid plate/cat shield on the ground and cats gone. Assumed the thieves used sockets/drill to remove - hadn't thought about the grinder option.

The good thing is the factory skid bolts are an inch up inside, and the rear transmission plate from RCI has the bolt heads inset/covered too. It would be tough to use a grinder on either, but you're right that determined/prepared thieves will still get it if they really want it.

Which is why many are also using the Barnes security dome washers in combination with security bolts. Much more difficult to grind/cut off. The whole idea is to be a deterrent by making the process to steal them so time consuming that they will move on.

RCI is having a Memorial Day sale. Website said they were open. I called and called and called. Left 3 messages. Recording said push “1” for sales. Music played, then got a recording to leave message. Stayed by my phone all day. Nothing. I’ll try tomorrow.
