For all of us with RCI transmission skids, RCI is releasing an extension plate to cover the Tundra cats. The Tacoma and 4Runner versions are coming out in the next few weeks with the Tundra and FJ after that.

I know a few of us who wanted to stay with RCI and still have cat protection called them a couple times. They said the calls helped, so a shout out to RCI for listening to us and designing a product. Old skids will require drilling, but the new ones will be pre-drilled for the extension plates.

Will it cover front and rear cats?

    That's my understanding.

There's definitely a market there. If you have or want RCI skids for your truck, you'll add the cat protection. If you just want cat protection, you'll buy the transmission skid.

Unless they come out with a rear plate, I don't know how they would cover the rear cats.

I reached out to them to see if they have and pics to share and if the rear cats will be covered. I'll post when they reply.

I don't think they'll have any photos to share. I don't think they're at that point yet in design and production for the Tundra. The Tacoma and 4Runner prototypes appear ready to roll.

They will just be an add-on extension so I highly doubt it would be a group buy.

Awesome! Needs me some. I just put my engine and trans plates on last week. Too bad I missed their sale by a couple days! Love the fit and finish of my plates though! Here’s a pic for proof! Lol C4CE21B9-7C85-4B55-A0AF-4A5AAEE6A4BF.jpg

Sweet, I'm sure they will be a little different with the tundra since we got 4 cats..... Also wondering if it will be drill and bolt on like these or a part of the transmission skid for the Tundra. Because I want to order a full front and mid skid preferably while they got their 15% off sale. And if its a add on for the cats I can just buy that later.

They need to hurry and expedite this.... I'm curious if I bought for the taco how much it would cover. It can't be hard to add the "wings" if you already have the skids

The Tundra wings shouldn't be far behind. RCI is aware of the demand for these.

Too bad they don’t have an option for lifted trucks. Called them the other day & it’s not something they’re going to do.
