I have 2.5 Gen skids. How will the cat guards mount to an existing transmission skid because I don't have pre-drilled side mounting holes? Is it only front cat protection?

 

But then I can only go a few blocks.

Can you give some info on your sliders?
Length, materials used, width on the truck? I’d like to know if they stick out far enough to stand on- example to wash the truck or get access to prinsu rack.

@RCIoffroad so if we have the trans cover the cat shields will bolt up to that? Talking for a 2.5 gen?

 

Interested in the cat gen 2.5 guard. Will they bolt up to a TRD Pro skid plate. Thanks

@RCIoffroad - Interested in this as well. For those of us who already have your skids, can we retrofit them to use the new cat protection? If I remember right, some of the holes were square and paired with a bolt to prevent rotation. Do the cat protectors just use round holes that we can drill ourselves?

 

Hopefully the cat guards come soon.
I have a serpentine belt, tensioner, and idler pulley to install so the skids have to come off.
Be a good time to add the cat guards.

 

Hopefully your hand doesn’t come out as mangled as mine getting that new belt routed. Changing the tensioner and idler was nothing in comparison to grinding off a few layers of hand meat getting everything situated.

 

Hey Josh - any news on the 2.5 gen cat guards? Did you see the article in the Post yesterday about CO cat thefts? Makes me anxious.

I’d love to see a group buy if for no other reason than getting a list and maybe some deposits going - I’m sure they’ll be overwhelmed with orders for a little bit.

That'd be nice actually, for those who have RCI skids installed... the drilling is going to be doodoo.

 

I’m dreading the aluminum chips everywhere more than the actual drilling.

 

I was told yesterday in about 2 weeks for the 2.5 gen. Two weeks ago was the same answer and the same before that and so on…….

 

Think I am going to pull the trigger on Talon's garage cat guards today. Cannot wait any longer on RCI.
