Man I'm at a loss on what to go with for my tires. True 35s, or something slightly smaller. Would a 33 or a 34.5 have be that big of a difference from the 35s. Any other benefits? Smaller tire is lighter so help with MPGs, not that it really matters, but I guess it could, huh?

I dont know what I want. I just want it to stick out slightly, even with my flares or just a touch past them and look proportional and bad ass. This is all for street, nothing off road.

Wes, first thing you need to determine is your offset. Go look at your truck and figure out how much more you want your tires to stick out than your stocks. This is a great formula to use...
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/tire-fender-overhang-formula.11063/

Once, you know your offset, then you can decide on wheels and tires

And give us a pic from the front and rear of your wheels and flares. An angle like this...

Just when I think I know what I want in offset and someone tells me, someone else follows behind them that completely contradicts what the other said, ha. I'm still not sure which sticks out further, the +18 or +20. Which I guess is about where I want to be.

I'll try to get a photo later.

the +18 sticks out further but by only 2mm. You won't notice the difference. I think that would be a good offset for you with the flares.

I think @r4z0r51o has +18, and should have his flares on by now. Maybe Dave has some pics.

Unfortunately, I still do not have my flares officially on (still looking into getting my fenders clear bra'd before committing to it). But, Wes I can tell you that +18's will stick out 2mm's more than +20's. I've got +20's and I think it looks great combined with 295/60/20 (33.9"x11.6") without flares and it clears the cab mount by about 1/2 inch. However, since you're using flares I think with the +20's you'll want to run 12.5" wide tires to have them stick out just alittle bit more (Unfortunately that probably means you'll have to do the CMC). Another option that you can go with is to use +1 offset with 295 tires (but that might also require a CMC)

Take a look at post #126 on my build thread for pics of when I test fitted my flares with the 295's (I'm more than likely staying with this combo after I install my flares for good, but only until I wear the tires down and will replace them with 35"x12.5" Nittos)

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/r4z...tallic-crewmax-5-7l-trd-4x4-build.6014/page-5

@AriMiko43 has 35"x 12.5" tires on his +20's ... checkout post #472 and 474 for pics of his set up.

Thanks Dave. So you say in ur post that you'd for sure go 35s next time? Why?

Yours looks good but I think I'd like mine to stick out just a touch further. So with a 35 and +18 I think I'd be good. I'll probably obviously have to do the CMC but that doesn't seem as bad as it sounds.

I did like the other guys and he said he only gets a little rub. Not sure what lift he has but those wheels are like what I want, so they look bad ass on the truck!

Wes, you basically hit on exactly why I want to go to 35's ... to make my tires stick out just alittle bit more. Honestly, if I could do it over I'd buy +1's (didn't think I was going to add flares) and either do the 295's or maybe still go 35's.

Miko is on a LRO 3/1 lift, 20x9 +20's with 35"x12.5". Those Fuel Assults look great and the Fuel Pumps look pretty nice too. You couldn't do wrong either way.

I was talking to a guy who sales those wheels last night, and he doesn't have them in +18, but he does have +1 and he recommended them. I need to see what the actual distance difference is between +18 and +1. I dont want to stick out too far and look goofy. Which level do you have Dave?

I don't believe that the Fuel Assaults or Pumps come in a +18. The only positive offsets I see are a +20 and +1 ... if you look at both mine and @AriMiko43's pics, the +1's are about 3/4" further out when you compare rim to rim not tire to tire (that is if you're thinking about a 9" wheel). If you want my opinion ... if you're going with 9" wheels, get the +1's and go with 295's minimum. If you're afraid that's stick out to much go with the +20's and get 35x12.5" tires. The difference between those two sets ups is about 1/4". If you want an even more aggressive look go with the +1's with 35x12.5" tires (that would be about 3/4" wider than AriMiko43's). Just keep in mine the wider and taller you go, that CMC will come into play. My level is 3/1 ...

I know you have a 3/1, but is it the Toytec Boss? I think that's what I'm going with, even though it's so damn expensive, ha.

Yeah, I think I may just do that and go 295's and the +1 offset. For sure want 18x9. Tires wont be as big around, but with them sticking out a little further, they will still look really aggressive and a good look for the truck. At least I think that sounds like a good idea, ha. I dont want to be like you though and wish I had just gone 35s. Hummm..

I dont think I'm as afraid of doing the CMC as I once was. Doing more research on it, it looks pretty simple. Another option is going with a new front bumber, ha. I've had my eye on that Go Rhino bumper. From the looks of it, it should alleviate the need to do the CMC.

Oh yeah, you need a good 2.5". That's gonna put you around 0 offset. Then assuming you get a 3" lift, it's going to be tough getting a 35" tire in there with that offset.

Yeah, so we'll see. Can't wait until I can get it done. Going to run me about 4K just for the lift, wheels, and tires. Not to mention shipping, tax, install labor, alignment, CMC, and who knows what else.

But if I had to choose between the Lift and tires and all my other mods... I'd definitely choose the lift and tires.

    Yeah no kidding.

    Toytec Boss: $1,700
    Fuel Assault: $250 x4 = $1,000
    Tires: $307 x4 = $1,300
