It functions as one or the other
It won’t switch between the two without going through the setup to switch

I see what you mean. That would suck. My Kenwood eXcelon is pretty seamless in that respect.

I have a new jvc head unit waiting patiently on my workbench to be installed...was going to happen soon since I just cleared out space in my garage to work out of the elements until it became a storage unit for one of my adult kids for the next 3-4 months

There's another thread out there about the TPMS system so I'll include it in the disliked features about our trucks. It is a pain to deal with when you need to replace the sensors. It really doesn't tell you which tire is low and it's obvious which tire is low when it does finally light up. Luckily there is a simple wire splice that takes only a few minutes to "fix".

I tried using it last Monday. I was behind a Sienna whose exhaust smelled like rotten eggs. I held the button on for several seconds but then it opened up a few minutes later and the smell was back. POS.

It is a pain but not as bad as replacing the starter. Fortunately I've never had to replace either one......yet

I usually only use the floor vents for heat. I don't usually like warm air blowing on my face. Warm air rises anyway. I still feel some heat blowing from the main vents even when it's set to just the floor vents.

How about the RADIO randomly turning off and on.

I had no idea this would be an issue. Sounds like it’s an internal problem with the OEM head unit (07). The only recommendation I’ve seen is replace the head unit.

If find that the cabin heats or cools quite quickly. I angle the vents accordingly. Much easier to do with my 14 vents than it was with my 07 vents since they wouldn't stay in position.

I would love to change the setting on the automatic door locks. When I press the Setup button, it just changes the display between English and Metric (units). It does not cycle through the next item to customize. What am I doing wrong? I could not find a separate thread on this issue.

I also don't like the location of the manual shift indicator number on the gauge cluster. Most of the time the steering wheel obscures it.

I don't know if this counts since this is something missing (to me), but being new to the Tundra the only thing I am bummed about is the lack of bolt-on (i.e. no drill) attachment points for a roof rack like there are for the Taco.

Still scrolling but the answer to why cars auto lock is for crash safety. Unlocked doors under impact can open witch is a big no no due to occupants safety an removing a structural item for body while it continues get impacted or rolls. The locked door adds that safety rating an will save your life in the event of a like crash.

It can also hinder rescue attempts if it can't be unlocked because of a crash. I want to be the one in control of any safety device. My wife's '06 Acura does not automatically lock. You have to lock yourself in manually, which we do.

My only gripe on my 2010 SR5 Crewmax would be the headlight intensity being so bad. Then again our RAV4 and Corolla Hatch have LED headlights. Other than that I love the truck! The MPGs suck but then again it's a heavy large V8 powered machine, what would you expect? :). 217.5k miles and I'm hoping I can make her last 5-6 more years at least. I average about 13-13.5 with pure short city stop and go trips. Maybe 4-5 miles round trip tops.

The lights are great compared to the Ford's I moved on from. I swear even their high beams wear only as bright as my Tundra's low beams. And that was even with new OEM headlights!

agreed. my 2009 f150 had these massive headlight housings, and a dual purpose hi/lo bulb. complete garbage. even my fathers 2012 f250 has a dual use bulb.

moving to the toyota was a huge upgrade. 2 separate bulbs for high/low.. not sure i would need more than that. sure, led and projector headlights are all great and all, but they werent really a common thing in 2013. if i was buying a 40k 3rd gen, id see it as a significant annoyance.

my least liked feature (aside from the fuel economy, obviously) is the total absence of the option of having a rear diff lock. sure, i'd love to have a manual transmission, but i can deal with automatic. sure, i'd love better MPG's, but i can tow 10k lbs. but seriiously, no locking rear diff option in the 4x4 model? c'mon Toyota......

oh, and the 2 valve springs that broke on my engine this last November when i was still 3 hrs away from home, just cruising down the highway, no towing or load of any kind....yeah, that also sucked major donkey balls.....

Our 2008 sequioa does the same. Very annoying. Scary at times to be hit with blaring music while rolling 55 in an otherwise quiet occupant area.

I've only read about this issue sparsely as it doesn't seem to be too common. The fix is as you said based on readings "replace radio."

well i personally recommend replacing the stereo anyway, even without such problems...i've yet to hear or use any factory stereo system where i thought to myself "hey, this isn't half-bad, i think i'll keep it". no...i doubt factory systems will ever compare to even a good budget aftermarket build, much less if you actually put some time & effort into the build.

sound system replacement has always been my first mod in any vehicle i've ever owned, and well worth the time & money.
