When it comes to speakers and amps im as good as a log, but yes i believe they are 6×8s they are type R alpines. My good friend who is a DJ helped pick everything out so im clueless.

well i was going to go with 2 10" but im thinking i might go with 2 12" PIONEER TS-SW3002S4, they are pretty good priced and have good reviews on Amazon and crutchfield.

Never heard them in person before but @Vector W8, who did stereo competitions is trying to break the worlds record for the most extravagant stereo install ever using almost all pioneer components. I think he's using the same subs.

that would be a solid sub. the punch stuff is their midrange equipment. many many moons ago, i used to run two 10s (the punch equivalent 25 years ago) but now, i'm running a single 12", power T1 slim 1ohm. i honestly can't imagine having two. i'm also running fosgate components in the doors and it all blends really well.

curious to see how that works out for you. almost bought a 360 instead of the JL stuff but, to be honest, finding a good review was difficult. looking forward to your feedback.

that was supposed to be 1 12" sub not two. I honsetly cant decide between the responsiveness of duel 10's or the boom of the 12"

i'm really happy with the single twelve. plus, i wanted to keep things simple by only run a single amp and i didn't want to mount anything under the front seats.

im going to i wish i knew some dudes with duel 12s in their tudra near me, that way i could hear the differnce. The people i know that run Duel 12s dont care about audio quality, they just want to shake stuff.

just about everything but modern rap, modern country, and death metal. I usually stick with EDM or Dubstep on long rides with a little johnny cash thrown in there.

I want to get rid of the factory JBL amp, it introduces so much noise that the Fix cannot get rid of all of it. I have the Fix remote set to 50% now for both knobs and my amp turned way down. When i have the head unit volume above 20 and i pause the music on my phone, I hear a faint hiss from all the speakers when i put my ear near the speakers. I have troubleshooted my system for hours trying to get rid of the faint hiss, then after a conversation with James at T12V, it is the factory amp that is the cause of the noise. James says getting rid of the factory amp and running this new processor will solve my hiss issue. Only other way would be a new head unit (not in the budget and wife would notice). I like the Fix and the 2 knob remote and wish i could keep it, but would rather not have the hiss.

I have a JL RD400/4 powering the door speakers already and a JL HD 750/1 for the subs.
In the JBL entune system the factory amp has always had to stay, even when installing aftermarket amps. the factory amp has the volume control in it instead of in the headunit (dumbest thing ever).
So currently i have the factory head unit that goes to the factory amp that then goes to the fix86, then to the aftermarket amps then the speakers.

Ok, i was curious cause i didnt know how much power i need for the doors. But since the entune is non JBL i guess i dont have to retain the orignal, but will i need the fix86 still for good audio quality?

Processor is not required for non-JBL head-units but @smslavin will likely say it is a benefit.

definitely. my truck was non-jbl and i'm running both a FiX and a TwK. after tuning the TwK, the sound quality is stellar. i've been documenting my tuning adventures here...

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/twk-88-tuning.25729/

i do seem to be having a software glitch on the TwK but JL's support has been really good. not resolved yet but we're trading lots of emails and their response time is good.

While true the sound quality is crap without a DSP or new head unit with the non JBL Entune

    Update:

I have decided to go with the pioneer 30002s4 but im going to forgo the Fix86 for now and the enclousure i have yet to get but it shouldnt be hard to get. im still completely stumped on what amp to get i calculated that the max watts is 600 but i have no clue how to find a good amp that supplies close to 600w @4ohms without breaking the $500 dollar price point, any body got a suggestion on that one?

Btw loving this forum, everyone is super helpful for someone just getting into the custom modification scene.

Got a link to the sub you are getting? Dual Voice Coil? Single sub or duals?

with how inexpensive those speakers are, you might want to throw two of them and wire to 2ohms. That will open up some more powerful inexpensive amps.

I had read these were very good speakers (normaly 150-180). @Vector W8 is using them in his build, so i figured they would be very good. If i need to run duels ill probably run duel 10's, 12's just thump too much for multiples.

Just turn it down. Nothing wrong with having the ability to really let it rip.
