What would you guys recommend for stripping off a polymer sealant that is fairly new? I've decided to get rid of it and use an sio2 product. Thanks.

I have katzkin seat in my truck and I am getting noise from where the leather makes contact. In the rear seat, whenever I go over a bump the seats squeak since they are making contact. I also got my center console lid reupholstered and they added some padding and due to the increase in size, the lid make some contact with the side of the front seats and also squeaks from time to time. I have cleaned and conditions my seat to see if this would resolve my issue but it has not. Research has shown I can used Aveeno lotion to quiet the squeak but I wanted to see if you guys had any other suggestions before I go with this route. I look forward to reading your responses. Thank you.

My son had some shoes that were squeeky and he would never ware them so I applied a few coats of this stuff and let it soak in. No more squeeky shoes. Can't say it would help your situation.

    Try
using Super Spot by Shine Supply, it is formulated to clean up bodily fluids!! Should be able to spray it on the stains, agitate, then wipe up with a microfiber towel. I would then follow up with some sort of odor neutralizer and you should be good to go!

Have you ever tried the Super Spot by Shine Supply? Seems to work well with Carper Cleaner

For those of you using Carpro Reload what prep steps do you take before reapplying when it starts to wear off? Can you get away with a good reset wash then apply or do you need to do the full ipa/eraser wipedown again as well?
Also what kind of durability are you guys seeing? Thanks.

A good reset wash is all that is required, if the paint was previously prepared.
As far as durability you should see about 2 or 3 months depending on how clean the paint was before application and how often you wash the vehicle.

I guess there 4-6 months is bs then, lol. Maybe something like hydro2 could give the same kind of protection with a lot less effort? So would you do a full decon once or twice a yr to start fresh?

Longevity is a very tricky thing to calculate, especially on a spray on product, as weather factors and paint condition before application play huge role.
You could technically get 4-6 months worth of protection but weather conditions will need to be optimal and paint prep has to be excellent. That's why I never go by the manufacturers longevity claim.

I would do a full decon wash once a year and reapply. Although that is not really required, it will help prolong the product longevity for sure. Also reapplying the product every other month after the wash will also keep the protection going.

x2 on this. Decon once a year. I generally expect about half the longevity advertised. The manufacturers’ claims are generally based on perfect conditions. Garage kept, non-daily driver, etc. The only thing I can say lasts as long as stated is Jescar Powerlock. Applied some to our old Sequoia in early June, and it was still beading as of yesterday with nothing added since.

You are correct that Hydro2 will get at least the same protection if not more, with almost zero effort. What Hydro2 won’t do is add any gloss or shine to speak of. Reload is very strong in that department, second only to Beadmaker in my experience. (As far as spray sealants go.)

Any idea if products like gyeon wet coat or tacs water glass add any gloss with protection or would they just be another version of hydro2?

I’ve only tried Gyeon Wet Coat and it’s the same as Hydro2.

Shine Supply Wet Detailer is nearly as easy, and adds gloss, but I can’t speak for the durability as I’ve only just tried it last week.

@Pudge what about Opti-Seal? It’s been a long time since I used it. I don’t think it adds gloss, but can’t say for sure.

So when using hydro2 concentrate what do you dilute it to? I've read many different ratios to use? Thanks again.

    I dilute it 6:1. @Pudge does 9:1 I think.

It definitely adds some gloss but not much, maybe like hydro2 but not as much as reload. It's a really cool product and seems to get great reviews. I would recommend it but I feel like it could definitely be better as far as gloss
Yeah I mix it on the weaker side because I have had issues with it drying and streaking on me. It could just have been that I applied to when the temps were too hot but I get great results with a higher dilution 8 or even 10:1

up until reading this thread, I had a monthly subscription to Tidal Wave.. Luckily my new 2020 SW Pro only went through one wash before I cancelled it. the thing I like about it was the convenience and ease. If I were to go to a regular car wash bay with a sprayer to rinse it.. can you recommend a couple products that I could use in the bay, that are easy to use and would benefit the truck with a weekly or Bi weekly wash? kinda like a dummies guide to maintenance washing...Rinse vehicle off in bay, apply XXX, then dry, then apply XXXX etc..
I really appreciate this thread and everyones knowledge and recommendations!

Moonlight is another I was looking at. Do you happen to know how reapplication is once the coating starts to fail? Can you simply do a good clean with something like Optimum Power Clean and ipa wipedown? Also how was application, as easy as they make it look?

Haven’t gotten to that point. My thinking is you do a light polish after 8 months or so. Or you ipa the paint after such time and reapply. Tac says 9 months. Real world in snow country might be like 6-8 months. I always polish after winter anyway. I highly recommend the product. The bottle will do the tundra probably 10 times. A little goes a long ways. Fantastic on plastic trim. I have moonlight on everything but the windshield. Application is simple. Panel at a time and wait 1-3 minutes. Then wipe off with a microfiber towel. No stress product imo. Like other coatings.
