Just got a quote from 4wheelparts.com in Charlotte, NC to install four 5100's on a 2013 Tundra. Total for parts and labor is $948. Gotta rethink this.

Anybody got a better shop near Greenville, SC?

Do what I did when I had them rebuild my front suspension and have them match online pricing. Its a company policy that they match anything online (from memory). Go to their website and double check me. I know they matched many items that I wanted (OEM). They priced out other name parts for higher dollar. I said what a second I can get the OEM for less online plus thats what I want anyway. They did it for me.

I thought I saw some Billy 5100’s (4 pack) on the amazonsite yesterday for $350?

Anyways, I priced out 2 shops just for Billy shocks last year and they wanted $1100-1400 total. I put it on hold till deciding to keep the truck instead of buying a new one. Then pulled the trigger on a total front redo. Ended up shelling $3500 (long list). Worth it and 4wheel did a very good job. My truck has never driven and handled nicer.

What’s the best way to lift the rear then? 5160’s? Or shackles? The 5160’s will give a 1.5” lift, the I can get 2” in front with the 6112’s and still keep a 1.5” rake..

I’m putting 6112 at 1.9” up front and 5160 in back with a 1” maxtrac shackel to keep the factory rack. Hoping to have it done next Tuesday. I’ll post pictures when it’s complete.

Rear shocks will not provide any lift. The 5160s can accommodate up to 1 1/2" of lift. To lift the rear you would use shackles, blocks, add-a-leaf, or a new leaf pack.

I put 5100's on all four. Up front is set on the highest setting, 2.28" I believe. Also had an Icon leaf put on the rear for an additional 1-1.5" of lift because I have a shell. Fuel Vector 20" wheels with 305/55/R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

I believe it was a 3 leaf pack. They bill it as a:

1.5" lift Rear Leaf Spring Expansion Pack. Unlike traditional "add-a-leafs" that obtain lift height at the cost of stiffening spring rate and sacrificing ride quality. This new approach, full length Toyota Tundra leaf spring expansion pack, replaces all the factory secondary leafs while retaining the factory main and overload springs. This allows us to modify the spring rate to increase ride comfort, obtain lift height, maintain load and towing capacities, and increase wheel travel. By retaining the factory main leaf installation is a snap.

    Key Features:

    • Improved Ride Quality

    • 1.5" Rear lift Height

    • Maintains Factory Load & Towing Capacities

    • Increased Wheel Travel

    • Easy Installation

Can you install the 5100’s in the rear of a TRD? Will it be better than the stock yellow bilsteins? Planning on doing the Toytec/Eibach set up in the front.

If not what do you think a fair price would be for the 5100’s?

I would do them to have matching shocks but I'm sure only difference is the 0 to 1 inch lift
