Same exact truck as me, just red instead of blue. Excited to see it done! Do you have a tonneau cover on there?

"Handles done"... did you replace or wrap? If replace, did you do it yourself and how did it go?

Replaced, I think I was the first DIY, didn't take long to figure out the wish bone and jerk the handle. Passenger door gave a little trouble as the handle didn't hook the spring rod. I believe PapaDave418 had same issue.

I've got my mustache in for painting. Now need to decide on handles.
I got some satin black 3M2080 from Amazon for $16 and thought I would try wrapping them. Okay... now I know why they charge $100's to do this! Not easy! So far my efforts are pretty crappy and I think I will go ahead and bite the bullet and buy new handles.

The question is... do I get red or black, and if black do I get flat or midnight??
Here is a picture with the black vinyl. I think it looks pretty good but then it looks like a SR5 I guess.
    Please vote:
    1. Red
    2. Flat Black or
    3. Midnight Black
(which I assume is glossy like the lower portion of the mirror, ... badges are flat black like fender flares)

(the badge overlays are just resting on there, that is why you can see the red backing tape on the lower badge)

lots of shades of black in that photo, do you match the lower half of truck with the flat of the fender arches, the side step, badges, window moulding, bed rail, tires, or the gloss black of the top of the truck with the pillars and mirror? hmmm

i vote flat black as there seems to be more of it on the truck

You could also plastidip them if you want satin black. That would probably be your easiest option IMO. It's much easier than a wrap since you won't have the edge lifting difficulties of trying to tuck the edge down into that seam and getting them to adhere properly. Vinyl doesn't like to stick to chrome.

I like the black handles. It gives some good contrast and makes the red pop

    Update on my chrome delete:
    1. decided to go with red handles...there is enough black as it is.
    2. Have to wait until the end of the week for my painted mustache...grrrr.
    3. I bought some decals for the grill/bumper, trying to break up the black and tie in with the red body color. They seem a bit flimsy...we'll see if they last. They take a beating at the front of the truck.

    upload_2022-5-16_9-55-15.jpg

    The decals are from https://tvdvinyldecals.com/collecti...ast-vinyl-decals-for-2022-tundra-front-bumper

Painting the mustache black definitely makes the grill look even bigger. This photo is what convinced me to color match and not go black for anyone debating

Doesn't look terrible, but I do think color matched looks better

I was under the impression they didn't actually do sheets of wrap. I thought they were more of just a decal place.

Let me know if they actually sell sheets because they are supposed to have some pretty close color matches on the Toyota colors.

Here’s my wrap. It’s 3m vampire red satin finish. Color is pretty damn close as far as i or anyone who has seen it can tell. The satin finish does provide some contrast. Pics show sun/shade so you can see the difference. They’re going to paint the horizontal section under the grill, said too detailed for a reliable wrap job ( told me after the fact) $325 all in390D67EF-FE7F-4613-9F16-5C23C4A9A5F2.jpgAADFF249-F73D-45DF-9340-47F56AEB77D7.jpg

Thanks. I'm happy with it, definite improvement. We'll see how close they get the lower section when they paint.

I painted mine and it IMMEDIATELY started chipping in several areas. Like day 2. Having PPF applied seems to have damaged the paint at the edges where they squeegeed it..... So much for paying an extra $350 for "Protection"

Even Toyota marketing department is hating on the chrome mustache! Just got the advert below and throughout the whole thing (which is much longer than the picture) there is not a single chrome mustache to be found. I wonder if they kill it on all trims in 2023...

It's more of a matte finish right? Hard to tell but there seems to be a slight difference

I used the OEM emblem overlay kit for limited 2022 which covered all the emblems:

    upload_2022-5-19_21-29-58.jpg

They installed in minutes and look great...except the letters on "Limited" run together a little.

This is how I am going...black flat wrap on the stache. Just waiting on the quote from the wrap shop. If paint chips, then I would be concerned just as much as the wrap. I am going to get a 3M film over top of the wrap to protect it from that very thing. I am ok with a larger looking grill, as long as its not chrome looking I will be happy. Keep in mind guys that the A-pillars are also just a wrap; I am sure most of you guys know that already...if Toyota is willing to put them on the A-pillars, it should hold up pretty good on the moustache.

As for the handles, I am going black to tie in with the black badges on the truck.

For those of us in Canada, I will let you guys know what the costs are to wrap all the parts.

I bought some decals to break up the front grill [in red] to drop into the TUNDRA lettering and TRD lettering, but not thrilled with the vinyl. Got them from the same place mentioned above. Plus, my red did not match so it looks off. So, I am going to give Tufskinz a go and see how theirs are. Ordered the parts for the Grill and Endgate. Will post once I get them installed.

Agree 100%. Great kit, super slick. The Limited, as mentioned, looks kind of blended together, but at least the chrome is gone.
