I have Red Limited 2022 DC TRD OR. Can't believe the Toy designers thought all this chrome was a good look. But black and red look very good together, so I have been considering full chromed delete, but ouch on the price. Here is what I've found:

    1. Mustache - multiple shops have said cannot paint chrome. Need to buy new bare plastic parts (3) and paint them to match. Est $1000 min including labor. UPDATE: Have found two shops who say no problem to paint stache, but will be $700... if I disassemble and bring them the parts. Have considered vinyl but don't know if can match red and how it will hold up given the beating the front takes from bug splats and such.

    2. Badge overlay kit: $160

    3. Door handles: Two front handles are $300 each in red, two rear handles another $80 each. Plus major hassles to install. Just that cheesy chrome plastic piece on the outside needs to be replaced but you have to do the whole unit. So that is the better part of a grand there. UPDATE: Kit for all four handles available here for about $400 w/shipping here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/ultimate-oem-toyota-parts-thread-for-3rd-gens-2022.102951/

    4. Tailgate latch handle. Parts department looked it up and the guy was afraid to give me the number but I gather is was north of $500 for a red one due to all the electronics in the assembly. UPDATE: No need to by the entire assembly, just the "garnish" for $40, same place

    5. Rear bumper pieces...did not get a quote, but assuming about $200 for black ones UPDATE: About $60 each, same place

So in total, UPDATE: With what I've learned, will be about $1K in parts plus the cost to do mustache, which will be between $200 (vinyl - black as there is no red match) and $700 (painted red). This is a lot better than my original estimate of $3K. Thanks to everyone for pointing me in the right direction.

Shoulda saved money and bought an SR5 ;). JK, but I didn't think the Limited had a chrome mustache, isn't it painted silver? I'd think they could prep and paint that just fine.

They tell me the mustache is chrome plated plastic, so can't be painted.
A loaded SR5 CM would have been my preference but good luck finding one of those. After 5 months, took what I could.

That is where I'm at right now.... live with chrome a couple of years, then move on to TRD Pro.

Wait... They quoted you $1,000 for the labor just to paint the 3 front pieces? Or are you saying that they quoted you $1,000 in total with the pieces, paint & labor?

Correct. Its not chrome, just a painted "Brushed Nickle" color.
Should be able to paint but I wonder how much the mustache pieces are?
I'm planning on taking a look this weekend at it. If I can remove the mustache (easily) ,
I might consider just priming, painting and 2K clear coating the pieces myself. would probably run about $90 for a DIY and using quality materials.

I already did the badge overlay kit. Very easy to do.

Gotcha. That makes a little more sense. So, the overall labor/paint cost would be about $500 then.

I did not get a price on the 3 mustache pieces. They only come in paint ready plastic. I guesses about $300.
Two very skilled and knowledgeable auto paint shops looked at it and said no way to painting the mustache. Said it would look good for a while and then peel.
Maybe need to ask a third...

just to give you an idea on prices for the 3 pieces themselves…

the mustache (somehow the cheapest part) is $75.53, then each side of the front bumper “molding” are $175.48 each.

so after tax, you’re looking at about $450-$460 depending where you are. So if they said around $1,000, you’re looking at $500-$550 in labor in paint. Not terrible by any means.

I’m in a similar boat to you. Trying to color match Army Green has been a challenge.

I agree that is appears to be painted, but both painters thought it was metal plated with the brushed finish, which is common using electroless plating techniques.
I'll be interested to see how your DIY approach goes.

THIS, the prices you listed are absurd. Replacing the handles with color matched ones from Roman is easy, just takes time. The rear bumper pieces and window trim are easy as well, front stash have it wrapped or get new ones and have them painted.

I agree about the prices being absurd... welcome to California.
Have learned a lot here today...
Handle kit more like $400 on line which is tolerable. The local dealer was quoting each part and adding 10% sales tax.

Handles are a little tricky, I solved this and help others with it, in fact, one of them (papadave418) made a YouTube video: https://youtu.be/wsB4eHE6tH0
There is other chrome delete threads within this forum with lots of help.

Yes... I am finding that! Lots of chrome haters out there.
Sorry to dilute with another thread... it appears most of my questions have been answered elsewhere.

For those of us in Canada, website shows handles are red…they are not ! Guess I will have to wrap that too…

But, truck is ready for pick-up next week.

Going to powder coat wheels black, wrap the moustache (black because I assume there is no red wrap that will match), do the handles, and bumper.

I’m looking at getting new colour match parts for chrome delete on limited because the price for wraps is ridiculous.

Just had mine fully done. Bumpers fenders handles window sill and the mustache. 1200$ vinyl wrapped. Not a perfect match but i am happy with it. Will eventually get the trd pro grill

I've got a wrap going on my mustache next week. It's a 3m satin red, not an exact match to the supersonic but close enough. Can't look any worse. I'll post it when complete.

Yup, like to know how close the red is. I am leaning black because I think the reds that are mostly stock at the wrap shops are not going to be off just enough to bother me.
