Not sure on the class of hitch, but it does have one. Definitely has trans cooler. Pretty sure the crackhead before me removed the wiring harness AFTER the connector for the trailer harness.

I agree with this and then I'd tow with it and see if you need anything else.

 

There has been some discussion elsewhere on the forum about general springs. On the fence with them or Alcan again like I used for the V6.


Anyone got any real world reviews? Did a quick searchie, but couldn't find what I was hunting.

 

Mine work great. I went with new shackles as well. They're a tad stiff, but that could be the toytecs overdamping them.

When designing made-to-order springs i’d be apt to exaggerate the overall capacity i’m looking for by 1000 lbs, so when it shows up weak, its perfect.

So swapping the stuff I had for the parts you linked... Here's the new cart. $75.99 difference. Should be able to send the calipers in from the silver truck as the "core" using the savings.

 

Browsing for everything right now. Just rubber neckin'. I don't know how long the CV axle boots on crackie have been ripped open, but all four were torn when I got him. Would you 4WD dudes reboot an "unknown" CV axle like that? Both appear to be OEM best I can remember. Also, planning to keep the same ride height roughly. I think it's sitting about two inches over stock. Need them fancy boots?? The high angle fuckers?

The Junkyard I go to has a few Sequoias. A CV axle there is about $25... Could reboot a set from there if I can find any...

I also need to completely redo my vacuum lines. They're all hard as a rock and cracked. Small evap leak code just came on too.

Did you find a kit or just got some stock hosing and cut everything to size. My mechanic said that he wasn't sure how to do the vacuum lines because they were specially bent.

New to vac lines... I don't know heck about the evap system so any insight would be appreciated

 

When I did mine, I chose to go OEM. Hard part was most toyota online sites weren't that accurate with their part presentation for vacuum lines. I chose to use the below site and all worked out well. If you choose to go OEM, you could at least use the site to look part #'s up.
At that link, choose your basic model/frame code, at next page select whole model code, next page select Engine, fuel system...., next page over to right select Vacuum piping.

Not sure the real world review on Powerstop rear drums, but most aftermarket give vibrations that are unresolvable. OEM seem to be the #1 choice for drums. Mixed reviews on powerstop fronts. OEM rotors with EBC green stuff pads seem to be the best reviewed for fronts.

Approx $100 but it was only the 2 going to the air control valve on PS motor and also the one on driver side going to the throttle body. Those 3 had enough drastic 90's, I chose to use OEM. Your 03 will be different from my 04 in many ways and suggest you look at @Tundra2 post below and perhaps he'll recall what size tubing he bought.

If you do the hose going to the brake booster you'll need a check valve which they also sell. Can't remember the Size right now. It's on my lifetime project thread

 

Man, I was just looking for where I bought that to link it! One size doesn't have quiet enough if doing all the hoses. The 2nd biggest I believe.

Started working on the front end of crackie today with my Girlfriend Tabitha. We were talking, and working most of the day so I didn't get many pictures... Here's where we're at so far...

This is driver's side only...

• Drivers side was completely stripped except for the lower control arm because it was replaced by Toyota when they did the frame recall.
• Old no-name lower ball joint replaced with OEM.
• ECGS bushing, and new oil seal installed. Yuuge shoutout to @FrenchToasty!!! Yuuge!
• New to me Junkyard CV axle installed without rebooting. (Later date.)
• Old upper ball joint pressed out of the knuckle, and new SPC adapter pressed in.
• Knuckle reinstalled. LBJ nut torqued to 103 ft.lbs. All four LBJ bolts torqued to 59 ft.lbs.
• OEM upper control arm removed, and replaced with SPC UCA.
• Wheeler's off road stainless steel brake line installed on frame side hard line.

The plan for tomorrow??? Rip apart the passengers side, and take my shocks to a shop in town to have the tophats, and the coils replaced while trying to make headway on the driver's side brakes, and continue on the passengers side.

Oh, forgot to mention... most likely will be buying a slide in camper of some sort soon. Hence why I'm planning on stealing the silver trucks leaf springs to help beef up crackie a smidgen without breaking my bank right now...

Good luck with that passenger side seal if that's something you're going to knock out. Measure how deep the old one is with something and try to get similar. I had to do mine twice since it wouldn't seal right.

 

Naw, I ain't fucking with it if I don't have to. This is a bare bones, down and dirty, revamp to get the fuck out of dodge.

I'm not doing the steering rack even though I have it. I'm not doing the wheel bearings even though they need it. I'm not doing a lot of things that I want to do because I'm feeling the fire. I know this truck will get me and mine where we wanna go when I'm done with it, and then I'll do all the other things that it really needs.

I'm mainly using what I already have to fix it up gooder-enuff for now....

The drivers side was rusted to the wheel hub, and I broke it taking it off...

 

I’m sure it can be bent back, I didn’t bend it, but have had no issues with them staying on. Pretty sure the new ones I had to hammer on will look the same after the 1st removal
