Ok, what’s everyone doing for rear under seat storage? I have the “Limited” trim package, and yes it has the subwoofer there. Kind of limits the options I see on the internets...

Our search feature can be a bit finicky at times. You search a term and use slight variation in words and can get different results. Play with it some and you should be getting some good hits.

I have the ESP plastic under seat storage but actually it's mostly empty now (except for paper towels and a spare fleece jacket) but i'm sure i'll find more stuff to put in there this spring. I do stick some items behind the rear seats (umbrella, tripod chair, grill top to my Biolite stove, etc). I also got a rigid molle seat back panel off Amazon and put a bunch of molle pouches I had sitting in the garage on that and am pleased with it. The crewmax back seat is so big it won't interfere even with a large adult back there. Those hold the quick to reach items such as batteries, charging cables, some FRS radios, headlamps, etc. Also have a bag of tie down straps and another of bungee cords that go under the back of my drivers seat. There's quite a bit of room back there if you get creative but the underseat storage is definitely a good start!

I’m getting used to it now and really digging it. At first I wasn’t really into the “simple” interior compared to previous trucks I’ve had, but now I just figure it’s less crap to break. We used to put our little Toyota’s through hell and back in the 80’s and 90’s with our surf trips to Baja, ski trips to the Sierras and every thing in between. Hoping this Tundra is as bomb proof as the trucks of my youth!

Had to run out so I grabbed some photos.

Underseat storage. Really just using the center bin right now for paper products and jacket.
    image0.jpg

You can fit some stuff behind the seats (more on the passenger side without the sub).
    image1.jpg

And the seat back works quite well too! Got trash bags, batteries, bug spray, FRS radio's, a spare HAM HT radio, and a bunch of other stuff with plenty of room to expand. Also mounted the trauma kit on a velcro panel to the headrest which freed up under the front of the drivers seat. You can also see the normal first aid kit under the passenger seat. All the small items that were sliding around in the underseat storage moved to the seat back.

2020s are limited because of the keyless entry/shark fin antenna. A lot of the electronics run through that area under the rear bench, hence why they don't have a from factory storage option. I'll have to find the thread where it was discovered the rear underseat storage wouldn't work. Best bet is a tri-fold on the bed. Have fun with the truck!

Hah yup all good! I picked up a Lomax trifold for that reason and love it. When I need the bed, it takes 10 seconds to remove. Plenty of threads on bed covers if that is the route you want to take.

Thank you, already went that trifold hard cover tonneau cover route. Have had em for years on various trucks. Very happy with that solution for cargo security and weather protection.

And since we all like pics of trucks... :)

Looks good man, enjoy it! Try and stay off this forum unless you plan on spending way too much money on mods. This forum is a black hole of ideas...

I went with the ESP lockbox. Like it a lot and nice to be able to lock up items.

While I want to incorporate underseat storage, I’m using nothing because removing car seats to gain access to it just doesn’t seem worth it. Ive made well use of the big center console, and learned to store things like hitches and locks with the appropriate trailer.

Gloves, a rolled up fleece and a fire extinguisher pack the rear driver door pockets.

Rear passenger door pocket is filled with diapers and wipes.

Under the seats I have a blanket, shop towels, fold up shovel and jumper cables.

When they're into booster seat age buy one of these ... https://mifold.com/products/mifold-the-grab-and-go-booster

They work great, you can travel easily with them and you can flip up your back seats without removing them. Looks like they have some new products for younger kids but I don't have any experience with them.

That’s sweet! Ours are those grow-with-you seats so they will eventually turn into boosters.

And quiet frankly by the time the back seat is “carseat free” I’ll probably be wanting a new truck.. 2027/8

Mine is 9 so he's just about done with it. He's short though so the mifold is nice since it pulls the seat belt down to their shoulder level rather than raising them up. We originally bought a couple of those but booster seats are still huge and a bitch to travel with.
