You could definitely find those for a better price, I see them for sale quite often.

 

i think theyre close to same spec as my oem 5 spoke: theyr on CL fr/a '17 tacoma...
they almost seem too 'blingy' for a FGT, but I still like them.
Not gonna bite tho; got a re-paint in progress and also shopping for 6 speaker setup for this AC.

I kinda like the new tacoma TRD rims. I would love some rock warrior wheels but these are pretty slick too

If they’re from after 2023 or 2024 (I forget) fairly sure they won’t work without adapters. They changed the center bore to like 95mm or something, ours are around 106mm on (all?) 6-lug wheels in one of those two years. More info in the megathread. I’m too lazy to look.

Hub bore (hole in center) has to match. 105.9 - 106.1 mm should fit

Lug count has to match. 6 lug

BCD (the distance between the lugs) measurement has to match. 6 x 139.7mm or sometimes written 6 x 5.5”

Aside from that, you just need to know the wheel width and offset (how far the mounting surface is from center of the inner/outer rims), to calculate the backspace (backspace calculators are online if you hate math).

You can buy adapters to mount damn near anything on any car, but it’ll cost you dearly. However, as long as you know the four things above are a match, and the backspacing measure out to 4.25” - 5.0”, and the wheel isn’t wider than 9” - 10”, it should fit.

 

Are hub bores, say for most 4runners, tacomas, and tundras similar? I understand the lug difference and backspacing but the bores and BCD are all a big blank for me

 

Again, I'd direct you over to the general source of most community knowledge, your one-stop-shop for common questions, the "megathread", it's there for a reason (note the last two bullets, but the rest is helpful too, I think):

• Wheel fitment (backspacing/offset info) ... backspacing/offset plays a HUGE role in whether or not you'll rub with larger-than-OEM tires. If you need help understanding what ballpark to play in, this is a good thread to read. Gist: Best fit to put you near the fender edge w/o rub on 8½" wide wheel is ~4¾" backspace, 9" wheel aim for ~4.5" backspace. Popular Tundra OEM 7½" wheels had 5" backspace, some Tacoma OEM are not ideal at 5.5" backspace. With leveling, oversize 275/70r17 tires on 17x8.5" wheels @ 0 offset (i.e. 4.75" backspace) should only have minor rub.
• Wheel fitment (caliper rub): If your truck has larger 13WL calipers, beware of caliper rub on 16" wheels! 13WL is std on 2003+
• Wheel fitment (from other Tundras): 2007-2022 Tundras use 5-lug wheels. In 2023, Tundras started using 6-lug axles again, but the hub bore is smaller (95mm on 3rd gen vs. 106mm on 1st gen), so they technically won't work unless you spend a couple hundo on custom-made spacers.
• Some other tire size considerations see HERE and more over HERE.
• Wheel fitment (from other Toyota models): Anything from PRE-2024 Tacomas, 4Runners, Land Cruiser, LX470 and GX models that are 6-lug will typically fit. Someone here is probably running it already, and pics of it are in the OEM wheels thread. Make sure the hub bore is 106.1mm on the donor wheels else you need hubcentric adapters.

 

Couldn't get the old plastidip (or perhaps not, and whatever the hell is on there ) off. So I ended up just plastidipin over it. Used 4 cans and 6 coats. Not perfect by any means, but good enough for me and still a significant upgrade to what I have on now until I decide to get newer/better wheels. All in so far (wheels=$150), 4 cans= $35) for under $200--I'll take it. Will need to inquire local tire shops about swapping theses on.

 

I’ll add to shifty post links. I have e rated mt tires, they are amazing, off road. On road they are less than amazing. Yokohama 255/85/16 geolander mt. I switch these out from 4Runner to tundra as needed. On stock tundra 2wd suspension they rub in reverse at full turn with bumps/inclines. No rub in runner, bc of lift and mods. Tire fitting is a subjective art, each artist has their own unique parameters as to what works/costs/looks like. I’ll say this, if you’re not off road a lot, stay with a more regular tire, in a realistic size and load range. Unless your rig is more than a 1000lbs over stock or you tow heavy often or you air down to 10psi often. E rates are less than ideal.

Yeah, I'd ultimately recommend people to stay at 32.5" and under on diameter (255/85/16 is ~33.1") and under 10.5" width if you can.

I don't think it's the width that's causing rub in your case, it's the overall diameter that's got you in a pinch. But you may be able to overcome if you had wheels with slightly lower backspacing to push the wheel out away from the frame.

2023 Tacoma TRD wheels bolt on directly to my 2002 4x4, but other years might work with Wheel spacers/conversions from Spidertrax for example. Be careful though, depending on the wheels it maybe be hard to find correct lug nuts if your lug studs are not same size as the vehicle that the wheels came from.

Yup, couldn't remember if it was 2023 or 2024, hence the warning. I had a sec to check just now, and it appears the cutover started with the 2024 model year. 2024+ won't fit without tossing some skrilla at hubcentric spacer/adapters.

I need some details here. Which generation Tacoma did these come from, was it the newest gen or the gen before? This is the EXACT setup I'm trying to run, wheel, tire, tire size, everything, exactly what I'd like to piece together.

 

These TRD wheels came off a 2023 Tacoma. They are a direct bolt on, so no spacers are needed unless you want a wider stance. Newer Tacomas had different hub size and would need an adapter/spacer.

 

Got ya. I see your other posts about the wheels now too. Guess you must have gotten on marketplace and saw those at just the right time. I'm on the lookout for some. Guess I'll just have to commit to spending a pretty penny if I see some come available.

 

Yeah I got lucky. Guy was upgrading his wheels and tires so I got them together for a decent price. You can find these same Wheels as knockoffs on eBay for around $800 for four of them. Some of them offer two different styles center caps but you obviously want to verify the center hub opening dimensions

I bought a new 4Runner ORP last year, 2024, and installed the 17" wheels from the 4R onto my 2001 Tundra. I bought my Tundra in 2003 and have really neglected the exterior over the years, but I have always babied her mechanically. Even though the paint looks like it's from the junk yard, those wheels really pop on her! lol
