Dammit you guys. I wasn't planning on pulling my 1037 out again, but might end up doing this.
If i recall there's a mini hdmi port on the back, so i just need the cable for that?

Just make sure the damn thing is connected and working before you put everything back....none of the HDMI cables i tried worked until I found a kenwood. it was long enough where I just put inside my center console and plugged in there for power too.

I'd love to say updating software was easy...haven't figured it out yet. Garmin Maps on 1007 even worse. The Kenwood dealer said they would update software for me if I drove the truck over there.

For some reason, mine unzipped to a folder in a folder so the unit did not see it. I cut & pasted the folder out to the top of the drive & it updated.

Noice! I'm going to upgrade my current Kenwood to the 958XR next year and I also want to throw a Roku device behind it. May throw my NES mini into it as well. HDMI switch anyone? LOL

How do you ground the brake wire?

I installed a 1057xr last night to test out the wiring/speakers and amp. Everything works, but before I stuff wires and put the dash back together, I am wondering how to ground. I used maestro harnesses and don’t see a speed sensor wire. Is it already grounded with the maestro harness?

found the green wire in the harness and ground it to the headunit.

Guys hate to revive this but i am moving to this from the DDX9906XR.... Question on the panel and the actual fit...

Does it vibrate back and forth when on rough road etc? Or is this totally anchored?

Reason i ask is I has a Dasaita and another unit that vibrated like crazy. Just didnt seem to be anchored right...

Thats why I went to DD9906 (which I loved) but its time for HU upgrade....

HU is rock solid. No vibrations whatsoever in my 2016 tundra!

Very solid, on our Thanksgiving camping trip to the desert I was playing in the dirt quite a bit, from slowish but very rocky trails to romping and ripping down some washes, and it's rock solid.

The RR works but I sprung an extra $50 or so for the RR-2.

It's bluetooth capable so if you ever need to reflash it you don't have to pull the HU. It also gives you two programmable relay outputs, so when I get some lights I'll be able to control them through the HU without needing to run wires and switches into the cab.

Really? Wow, I did not know you could control lights. Very cool. I am planning on a fog light upgrade and was thinking I needed a gang switch. I’ll have to read up on how to control lights through the HU, thanks for the info!

Latest audio setup! I've been doing some reading on proper settings to achieve good mid-bass and it turns out:
[1] Overlapping the sub crossover with your main speakers can lead to 'muddy' sound
[2] One needs some attenuation around 300 Hz in the EQ. The low end ranges can't simply be increased together - without this 'dip' some of the bass disappears!

It's somewhat counterintuitive to me - paradoxical even. However my Tundra audio now beats all the other sources we have around the house (big receiver w/ sub next to the TV, klipsch speakers in garage, various BT speakers - even my headphones!)

    Other settings:
    - All special effects are OFF
    - Sub main level at MAX (10) (This way the head unit sub output is not attenuated)
    - Sub volume knob a touch beyond half - but YMMV since sub and other static settings are tuned separately on the Amp anyway via the little screwdriver knobs

Now my sub & doors speakers live in harmony, I honestly can't tell when the sub is taking over.

Anyone stuff Rockwool in cavities of the cab? I removed the rear seat and removed the side panels in my double cab. Behind the seat belt tensioner there is a large cavity, from floor and north, who knows how far it goes. I am thinking of stuffing Rockwool in it to cut down the noise. I am not sure what else is in the cavity and am hesitant to start it.

    Any help is greatly appreciated
