I had an early 90’s toyota pickup with the 22re that i bought with a spun bearing, rebuilt it, drove it for a couple of years, respun the bearing, and sold it. Built a bellypan and cab fairing from aluminum and coroplast, and topped 30mpg averages from Memphis to houston once a month. My parents talked me into trying adderall for my ADD, so every panel of that truck had been removed, and the insides cleaned and painted. Also recarpeted and dyed the dash and door panels. Wish i had pics, but the only picture i remember was after i had a flat and was running stock skinny 14”s up front and 31/10-15s on the back. I put alot of miles on that truck loaded and riding on the bumpstops.

I bought it new, but it didn't have A/C to start with, so a few years later, when I could then afford it, I found some kind of kit, installed like factory air. I didn't have a vacuum pump to draw a vacuum, but figured the Albuquerque air would be dry enough anyway, so just filled 'er up with the freon until the bubbles in the sight glass disappeared. It was frosty, too. Oh, them was the days!!

Drove it for years, gave it to my kid in '91, he drive it for awhile, then sold it for some crazy amount to some other kid.

Looks just like my first Toyota and think it was called an SR5, and mine had the 7 foot bed or close to that and was rare and not many others with the long bed, was a standard and loved that truck and went 300 k miles, with only brakes and tires and turned me into a Toyota loyal owner.

I had one just like that. Stolen twice, broken into half a dozen times. But it was sweet.

Here's mine. 88 4x4 SR5, 22RE 5 speed. Bought it in 1995 from a junkyard, it had been hit in the frontend. 20210421_184926.jpg

1969 FJ40 with a 2F. Biggest money pit I've ever owned. Newly rebuilt motor crapped out shortly after I bought it. Not the motor's fault. Previous owner drove from CA to OH and stopped out in the middle of no where to pull a one ton dually pulling a horse trailer w/ horses because the truck had broken down. I had the motor rebuilt again. Ended up doubling what I paid for it then sold it for half of what I had in it because I was never going to be satisfied with how it was.

Don’t have a picture of it, but 1995.5 Toyota Tacoma LX. 3.4L V6, 5-speed, 4x4 with 196K on it. It was my high school truck and it served me well. That was 15 years ago but that’s where my love for Toyota’s started. I might have a picture of it somewhere but it was very similar to this one:

My first was an 82 4x4 lab. My dad bought it new and it stayed in the family for 30 years. It was followed by an 86 4runner, 97 4runner, 93 fzj80, 14 tacoma and now my 15 tundra. All 4x4s.

1980 Corolla SR5 liftback. With a 38/38 Weber double pumper, a bigger exhaust and a little advanced timing it would outrun an RX-7.

01 Tacoma my pops bought new. Love this thing and within the next year she’ll be back on the road fully restored! (With a built 3.4 of course and a supercharger)

1988 Tercel, bought it new and my wife drove with over an hour drive to work every day. Had over 200K on it and got rear ended and totaled. Not mine but same color

First Toyota car was a 1987 Camry - great starter car for a young family in those days. I don't have a pic of my first Toyota Pick-up, but still have my 2nd one:1989 3.0L V6, 5 Spd., 4X4, 290,000 miles and still going strong. It has been repainted, new wheels, and restored just a littleFront 1.jpg :

She's clean! Would love to find an older one for my son so that I don't have him begging for my Tundra when he's of age :p

Thanks for the compliment. Good old Yotas are hard to find and I'm lucky to still have mine. I'll probably be buried in my Tundra...nicer interior than a casket! :D

It's a good looking red tbh. When I bought it, it made a small noise which we found to be the timing chain guide. But while we had everything opened up we gave her the works!

In 1990 I drove a 1980 Corolla sr5 hatchback. black with orange stripe. lost it in a head on collision with a full size chevy truck. walked away! I can't find a photo of it anywhere. It had louvers on the rear window, and was a manual transmission and rear wheel drive. It was not fast, but it was fun!
