Another thread got hijacked a bit and touched on this topic. The pics and stories were great, so I'm making it legit.

Here's mine. (not my pic, but it looked exactly like this... including the Celica wheels which I got from a salvage yard) '84 Toyota Van. 2WD, 5 speed. Cargo van, no rear seats. Lovingly referred to as The Luv Ma-tcheen.

Same picture from the other thread. My POS 91 4Runner. Despite how horribly unreliable it was, I still loved that thing. The roll down rear window was sweet.

We had many in the family including several Supra, a Cressida, and a Land Cruiser, but the first one that I bought was this 1996 V6 4X4 Extra Cab T100. The man I sold it to several years ago lives in the next town to my east, and he is still driving it with 335,000 miles... he said it runs like new.

I still have it but here is a picture from a decade or so ago. Another Toyota with some clapped out rear springs. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned.

    I really miss this one.
'88 4X4, front lockers, 3.0L V6, 5sp... rusty rear quarters but otherwise it was solid.
Rolled and totaled it a few years back sadly.

Yeah. My buddy had the Dark Blue 4x4 Version without any rear windows. Was a pretty cool van.

Another buddy had this one. Those little seats over the wheel well (iirc) in the back are cool. A nod to Africa Safaris. His dad had some kind of extended 4 door version of this (again iirc) as I wasn’t much into cars appreciation back then. My buddy knew every square inch and how to wrench it from his dads experience.

    I loved that truck
I reluctantly sold it to a friend who agreed not to sell it to anyone but me and guess how that went?

My first wasn't actually mine but more of a long term loan. It was hatchback Corolla from the 80's. I was 16 and my S10 was broke down. I was embarrassed to drive it but I should have been happy someone let me have it for several months for free. It looked like this (not my picture)...
    unnamed (1).jpg

My next one was a run down, mid 90's, 4 Runner that I destroyed in the course of a month or so. I never even had the title, just a bill of sale. I was probably 20 years old. I really wish I knew what I was driving at that point. I would have taken care of it and made it into the overlanding rig it deserved to be.

After that I didn't have a Toyota again until my current Tundra.

These aren't my pics, but this is exactly what it looked like.
1970 Toyota Corona - yes, for those not aware, spelled just like the beer - in sky blue.
No rust, No A/C, No carpet, AM radio, hubcaps, and a 4 speed. Good times.
    Price in 1984: $200

First Toyota truck was a 1998 sunfire pearl Tacoma SR5 4x4 2.7 5sp...it was a dealer demo with 5K on it when I bought it for $19K (MSRP was $23.5K)....sold it in 2009 with 185K miles for $5800. Only thing I ever replaced besides brakes/fluids/tires/battery was a starter. Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I put it on CL and had cash in my hand in less than 45 minutes...I obviously under-priced it....I think it was shipped to SA....again, pic not mine...

I had that exact same year truck with a nicer cap. Bought it used with a Full Width Puerto Rican Style Rear View Mirror with little fuzzy balls dangling down. Already had a Heavy Duty Rear Aftermarket Bumper. Bought tall pizza cutters and she was smoooovv!

Ended up donating the truck to charity when I bought my current 2002 Tundra. She was beach rusty like yours. Lots of caulk around the front windshield!
