Then when you were done looking at the cards or trading them, you used a clothes pin to hold them in the spokes of your wheels so they'd make that "neat" noise when you rode. Can you imagine how rich we'd all be now if we had instead saved the cards and sold them nowadays?

And schools had teachers who were designated as disciplinarians for when a kid did something really bad.

My mom used to give me $2.00 to go to the corner store and buy her a whole 10-pack carton of smokes.

In 1972 my dad bought our first remote control TV. We lived in the Philippines and my dad bought it at the BX. It was a 13" Sony and the remote was volume +/- and channel +/- only.

It still had a mechanical tuner so, when you changed the channel the tuner knob would go clunk, clunk, clunk as it physicaly rotated around.

I never understood this one. Seems like old people would be more conscious of time, therefore in a hurry.

I’ll be hauling ass when I’m older. When I get pulled over, I’ll tell the officer “Sonny, I’m 90 years old. I don’t have enough time left to spend it puttering around on the road. Write me a ticket, IDGAF!”

Is it weird that I’ve fantasized about all the crazy shit I’m gonna do when I’m old?

There's a 7 screen drive-in theater about an hour south of Dallas on I-45. How many remember mosquito coils and little devices that plug into the lighter and heated up a liquid mosquito repellent?

I remember gas wars where it went down to 11 cents a gallon. It was crap gas, but it was cheap and ran ok. We weren't driving performance machines. There were two stations across from each other that had a gas war about once a month. We'd wait until it went below 15 cents, and then fill up. If we were lucky, we'd catch it when it bottomed out at 11 cents.

So do I. I have memories of me, my Dad, and his uncles sitting around with Cokes and peanuts. It took a while to figure out just how much to drink before you poured in the peanuts, and how to get the last peanut out of the bottom of the bottle.

Not sure about the line that says there were only 45 stars on the US flag. Arizona was the 48th state to enter the union, and that took place 14 Feb 1912.

You know that you’re REALLY old when....you don't know if the gas/solid strainer is going to work when you are trying to fart at work...so you second guess even making the effort.

You can remember when March Air Reserve Base was an active duty base and they actually flew B-52's off those run ways.
