Okay, new thread...
I’v come to realize I’m not the only old retired guy here, so...
I’ll start:
You know that you’re really old when

you not only know what a slide rule is, but used one in high school.

 

You know your really old when you starred in a movie in the 80s and are still trying to stay relevant

 

You know you're really old when, you sometimes slip and say "albums" or "records" because, well, that's what you play when you want to hear music.

You have to explain to the kid(s) what encyclopedias and microfilm are, and that ALL your grade-school term papers were sourced from them.

You have to explain your coworkers what a 56K modem is and how we struggled to browse Internet back in the days...

I used to not be able to wait for the Sears and JCPenny Christmas catalogs! My whole Christmas list was made by folding corners of pages and circling what I wanted.

When the only trophy's that were ever awarded, were for the first place, champions. Participation awards were pep talks after the last game, and maybe some pizza.

 

I'm really too young to have experienced this, but grew up calling "copies" mimeographs because my high school had a print-ship that made duplicates using the old machines.... No hashtag. True story.

That sound dial-up modems used to make. When we signed on to AOL.

When your eyebrow hairs starts growing to 3" long.
When you tell the barber to not forget the ear hair.
When you start asking your kids what the hell they are listening to.
When you fall into bed and struggle to get out of bed because your body is making all kinds of noise.
When the doctor tell you you have the body of a 60 year old man and you're only 45!
When your actress/actor crush was hot when you were young and you think, they are still hot.
Going to the mall or the beach to pick up on girls instead of texting nd whatever else they do today.

 

When you remember a time that all phones were black, they really had a “dial”, and in your neighborhood, you only had to dial 4 numbers and the ring was not just ringing in your home, but 6 homes. Called a “party” line.

 

When you watch a movie today that you watched as a kid and realize most of these folks aren't with us today.

 

When your favorite music is being played over the speakers in grocery stores.

 

When they have a second generation of Classic Rock.
