Haha.... My wife is a country fan and she played me that song a while back. She had no clue what a Yeti is though.
Only part that they have DEAD WRONG is the silver bullet part.

I think you can tell my preference!!

Never liked Yeti. Too overpriced and I don’t do CrossFit either - not a fan of the cult trends.

I see HEB has thrown their hat in the ring though. Something called Kodi (like the TV app). Little red button you push purges air from the inside to support their claim that a vacuum creates a colder environment - which I’m inclined to agree on.

For what it's worth............. Nothing about Yeti is a "cult trend". Yeti was one of the first high end food preservation coolers that was BEAR PROOF...........Purchased by many over the years for that reason. Plenty of copy cats now. As far as "little red button" to purge air.............seriously???? Every time you open the lid what little vacuum there may be is lost..Seriously????? LOL X 100. I don't do Cross Fit either...LOL Seriously??? Never bought a Chia pet ..... or Pet rock....

Yeti, along with Shinola watches, are the two companies I most love to hate.

In my opinion they are marketing companies first, that just happen to sell coolers and watches respectively.

Whenever I see Yeti coolers tested side by side with other coolers they compare reasonably well, but they aren't the top of the heap, and the test results, at least in my mind, don't warrant the high prices.

There is better stuff out there at more reasonable prices.

Given the polarity of the Country right now you might want to think twice before alienating half of your customer base. I pay my NRA dues because they lead the fight against the abolition of the 2nd Amendment. 20 years ago I thought no way anyone could ever touch it but seeing all the mouth breathers out there today should make you scratch your head a bit. To each their own but that's where I stand. Yeti makes a great product but they aren't the only game in town anymore. Buy whatever blows your dress up and let the rough end drag.

After a crap ton of YouTube videos and website reviews. I bit the bullet and picked up a RTIC 65.

For the price. I don’t think you can beat it. And personally I have never needed ice in my cooler for more than 2 days tops.

I think YETI, target, starbucks, and some of these other places need some sort of filtering system that goes through a series of people for approval before a media release with some political agenda is pushed out, for the sake of their shareholders and company as a whole. Really ridiculous to lose millions of dollars worth of business by alienating yourself by taking a public stand over some nonsense when very likely probably a ton of the people you are upsetting are current customers

This is really shocking to read. Because there are many responses above as to the REAL story behind Yeti and NRA. And yet people still believe that Yeti took a stand against the NRA. Never did they do so, stated so, or have done so with any actions. Dicks Sporting for example banning firearms.

Facts: Yeti DID NOT publicly state they do not support the NRA. They eliminated a discount program on their products that was available to many organizations including the NRA.

The NRA took the notice personally as an attack on their organization and went to social media to blast Yeti. But the fact is it was not because of a political stance or political agenda. There’s more filler to the story. But it’s just sad that Yeti got so much negative press from an overreaction from the NRA.

I don’t own a Yeti. And don’t care for them.

I am aware of the facts behind the yeti ordeal. I was using it as an example as to how these companies create substantial problems for themselves by seemingly not having a system of checks and balances on what their CEO's or media relations people release in public or private. The timing of it included. Had this happened at a time when there when there wasn't a huge gun debate going on, after some high profile mass shootings, I don't think it would've had such a detrimental impact on their sales. Same goes for target and starbucks with some of their announcements that were perceived as being politically fueled/motivated in times of controversy... which were much more controversial then yeti's possibly innocent - but bad timing- decision to eliminate the program of one of its largest member and most conservative/politically outspoken organizations.

You are so partially correct... fake news is bad , but even worse is so many not savvy enough to realize it.... Actually your statement is not quite up to snuff. The NRA did not over react. Quite the opposite. Most of the over-reaction was from 3rd parties with an agenda against the NRA and Yeti. I don't fall for that crap. I do my homework......Why do you think Yeti's wanna be competitors took less than 24 hrs to jump on the "Yeti" is anti NRA bullshit????

Agreed. But to be honest. It sounded as if the NRA was more on the defensive and trying to stir the pot than Yeti was being reckless. All in all I agree with what you’re saying

Cannot compute this syntax error looking comment. You shouldn’t be glad I am not teaching your grandkids because they’d actually get educated unlike their grandfather.

You want to bash me for being a “newbie” here because I don’t have a zillion messages (you’re so cool). Allow me to apologize for having a life.

I wasn’t born in TX but flew over 5,000 miles to get here over 40 years ago and didn’t bail to live in CO. Bye now.

You’ve assumed plenty on your own. Speaking of cattle, I was raised with them (Black Brangus) so open your mouth wider to insert that other foot. Your propensity for using ill-placed punctuation only adds to highlight your ignorance. You done yet?
