    I agree.
The factory HU/speakers & amp in my 2002 SR5 sound so much better than the factory system I took out of my 2007 SR5, with the new HU/speakers/sub installed I can hear all instruments clearly at low volume levels. Great upgrade.

What sucks is JBL can and does make decent stuff but they contract manufacture to Toyota's crappy cheap specs.

While it is not the greatest system I find it better than the ones I had in the past and since it doesn't bother me I get to put what ever money I manage to accumulate to something else. :)

I'm a music lover myself. The sound I get is good enough, but the UI on the infotainment system is outdated. Odd to navigate if you have used any other near the current year models. My opinion, not sure if I'll upgrade or not, but overall love my Tundra!

I've got the non JBL in my 07...The JBL has to be somewhat better. My speakers are horrible, but then again my HU output isn't helping much in that regard.

yesterday was just weird. It played the same song over and over without the repeat on. If I hit forward or back ...it went to the beginning of the song playing. To be honest if my head unit keeps working....I am good. I am gettin older and dont care for loud systems. As long as my Tundra keeps running good... I am happy! :)

A good sound system is a must for me, especially on long trips. The stereo in my new "19 Tundra is, well, pretty weak. My iPhone does the apps thing so much better, esp Waze for nav, the Entune Nav is clunky and the UI is horrible. Completely underwhelmed with the system, but I knew that on the test drive I would have to mod it later. The truck underneath is why I bought a Tundra.

So Toyota owners arent allowed to point out the flaws and areas of improvements Toyota needs to make? Ill tell you folks, just like I told the Fanboys on the GM sites.....everything on your truck isnt great. Your brand loyalty and lack of experience with other manufactures blinds you to areas others excell. In the GM forums, you werent allowed to bitch about the clunky drivelines or surging transmissions..."Its normal, stop whining"...
Here you arent allowed to say your top of the line infotainment system is crap...
I get it now, thanks for the responses. I will look into the Tesla units, and sing nothing but the most positive praises for the subpar OEM technology.

I agree. The infotainment sucks. If it doesn't bother others, good for them. But for those who appreciate a nice sound system, Toyota clearly missed the mark.

Nobody told you that you can't point out perceived flaws in your vehicle. Stop being overdramatic. You are more than allowed to give such an opinion. Those of us who disagree with you are allowed to give our opinion as well. Brand loyalty has nothing to do with it...I have owned all brand of trucks except Nissan. My opinions are very informed, but they are mine. You can disagree with them, but I am certainly not going to act angry because you have a differing one. Trying to insult people here by saying that your opinion is all that matters and if ours is different from yours then we are just being brand loyal is incredibly insulting.

What are you talking about, it's been said over and over ad nauseum. Some people aren't audiophiles and could give a crap and god forbid, some people may not agree with you. Hell I'm half death and can tell the stock unit ain't all that. I'm not going to spend a couple of truck payments to upgrade it because I'm half freakin death.

That being said, I wouldn't mind upgrading for andriod auto but i don't want a unit that looks like it's upgraded.

I do notice the sound quality with Sirius seems better than the over the air stations. I recall Sirius sounding tinny back in the day. I need tires and wheels too much to worry about the sound system.

Let’s be honest here. The group in the “it’s fine” category are pounding talk radio, Barry Manilow and Fleetwood Mac.
And maybe when they really want to let it breath they rip some John Denver.

Maybe everything isnt about YOU, sir....If you read through the entire thread there are some less than friendly comments directed at my displeasure in the system. For those with attitude, suck it dry. For those who have recommended improvements, thank you.

I keep wondering why it seems that only 3rd gen owners complain about the sound on the JBL system. I don't have any problem with the complaints, just wonder if something happened with the 3rd gen. Is it Entune? I have the JBL in my '13 (not Entune), 12 speakers, not the greatest, I'm sure, but my only real dislike is the nav system.

This is a good article car audio systems if any of you want to take the time to indulge yourselves with some knowledge.
    I found it interesting.

That being said, my 2010 Honda CRV audio system is leaps and bounds better that my Bose System in my 2014 Infiniti Q50S. The Tundra's system is adequate for my aging ears. It is hard to hear over the TRD exhaust when in full time beast mode. Man does that sucker sound sweet.
