I'm considering the DDX8906s to replace the non jbl entune in my 2019 limited. Can anyone tell me if they experienced improved sound even with the stock speakers?

For those of u using an aftermarket mic, why not mount it in the factory location? I did, and people say i sound clear. Plus no extra holes or out-of-place looking mic. Im using a pioneer headunit&mic, dont know if theres any difference in how she’ll sound

Just installed my DMX906s and DRV-N520 on my 2019 TRD Pro. Getting ready to add the Natika front camera. I put my mic in the steering column and it’s decent, not great. i have noticed that the backup camera is blurry
compared to what it was on the stock unit. The dash cam is also blurry so think it’s the resolution of the screen. Anyone else having that issue?

Mine did, although mine is the non-JBL. Much more power over the stock unit.

I did the same with my Pioneer 4500NEX and it works great.

I have the Kenwood excelon ddx8906s. I'm sure the base programming is the same across all of the kenwood products so I have a question. I'm using apple carplay on my head unit but have found that if I accidentally select wireless mirroring, which I've read does not work with apple ios, it locks out apple carplay and I have to manually reconnect my phone to the hu. It's a little of a hassle and wondering if anyone else had experienced that. TIA!

yeah. I made that mistake a few times. Don’t select wireless mirroring. Quickly move on in the scroll.

I tried to move it to the end of the options list to keep it from showing up in the bottom tool bar. I’ll definitely steer clear! I love the new unit but now really need to change the speakers.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue. I can get all sorts of OBD data but the tire PSI says N/A.

On the home screen sometimes the tire pressure won't update but when I select it and it goes to the truck data page, they pull right up. I guess I've been lucky, most of my gauge information works.

On my HU I get everything but the fuel %. I wonder if it has something to do with the year of the vehicle and/or OBDII version?

To close the loop on this, not sure what changed but I now get tire PSI and temp for each wheel like I’m supposed to.

This is what I am wondering too. I have a 2016 and not sure it is worth the extra $$ for the RR version of the maestro if I am not sure the truck is capable of showing the extra data. Is there anyone here with a 2016 Limited that knows that answer??

It should be the same as my 2017 Limited. I have access to OBD data using the RR. As stated above, I had trouble getting the tire pressure and temp initially but now it works.

For reference, my Gen2 2013 Rock Warrior (SR5 trim level) does display Tire pressure on my DDX996xr with a Maestro.

@GeoJoe Is there any chance you could take a few pictures of the plug that connects into the camera? I bought the camera today off ebay knowing that it didnt come with a harness. I am trying to create my own harness but am having a difficult time figuring what the pin-out on that connector is

All the wires and harnesses are so stuffed into the dash that I’m not going to open that box of fun. But if you PM me your email address I’ll send you the install instructions and it may have what you need.

I felt the same way you do when first installing my Kenwood. Just for future reference, it's much easier if you pop the center grill off and stick one hand inside and pull the wires in to make room for the radio. Be sure to tape all rca and camera connection with electrical tape so they don't accidentally pull apart.

If you're installing into the factory radio, watch the anytime camera videos. After market requires a harness and the camera connection is obvious.

Hi @3rdGenTundraDC . I understand how the connections are made to the head unit. I purchased the dash cam by itself off eBay for 30 bucks. No wiring harness no mount, just the camera. I am in the process of trying to recreate the wiring harness from scratch. I have a full understanding of how the dash side of the harness is put together (1 pwr, 1 acc., 2 for rca + and -, and 3 for the Kenwood connector) but I am trying to figure out the camera side. I know it is a 7 pin (as Described before) and I believe the pins are 1.25mm apart. Just trying to make sure I purchase the proper molex connectors and would like to eliminate the trial and error as much as possible when setting the connectors

My bad. I was thinking you were trying to wire up a front view camera. I would contact manufacturer. Since you're making your own harness I would think you'll need to open it up and trace the path for each pin.

Nevermind, you're wanting to know which connector to purchase.

Yup. I found the replacement harness on Kenwood part site but it’s 75 bucks. Yup, either that or I’m hoping someone will see this prior to doing the install and do a simple continuity check using a multimeter. Place the positive on one wire on the dash side and then go to the 7 pin connector and touch with the negative until you hear the beep. I’d be forever in that person’s debt

It finally fixed itself. I pulled the Kenwood out and put the stock radio back in, almost traded in my truck. Decided against it and when I reinstalled the kendqood, everything was working all of a sudden. I have PSI read outs now and other OBD info.

Wires looks a bit complex and you'll need a factory pinout or cross your fingers and check on eBay for one sold for parts only.

    Good luck though
