The 3W Liner unit looks like a handy mod, but can you lock the doors and still leave the windows partially down?

Did the 3rd gen get auto up/down that like every other Toyota model has and everyone has been begging for in the last 15 years?

    I have the 3W.
If the windows are down and you lock it, they start to go up.
Lock it again and they will stop.
BUT, the rear door windows start to go up before the front door windows.
Can you leave them partially down? yes.
Will the front and rear be even? No.

At least that is how it works on my 2014.
I would take a video but I don't have my truck.

You can also lower all the windows with the key fob.
When locked, push unlock, lock, unlock, and all the windows are supposed to go down.
But my after-market ket fob is too finicky and I can't get it to do it correctly.
Maybe once in 25 attempts, maybe I just don't have the sequence timing down.
I can get to work sometimes with my Drone Mobil app on my phone.

I think on the upper-end models: Platinum, 1794, maybe Limited.
It has always been like that for Tundra.

Thanks 1lowlife, I'm using the factory remote so that sounds workable for me.

One more question for anyone that has installed this: their website has a video showing installation, and it implies there is a "low" and "high" version, and that the "high" version does not require the constant power run to the battery. Can anyone confirm this? 3W don't list a "high" version on their website. I've messaged them but have not heard back.

That confused me when I bought mine as well.
As you stated, they only offer the 'low' and that is what I bought.
    From the website:

Toyota Tundra Window Control Module (low) is for Tundra with driver side window going down automatically only.
It is for Tundra 2008 to 2020 of which the driver side window can only go down automatically .
This module enables you to control your window motion up and down automatically.

The 'high' was for the power widows that went down AND UP automatically.
I'm guessing Platinums and 1794s, but I'm not sure.

I know you stated you watched the video, but he explains it in the first few seconds.

    https://youtu.be/JasNy3ewPIQ

I don't see how it would work without having a constant battery feed.
Running a line isn't too difficult.
Several threads on how to do that, most from those running amplifier lines to the battery.

I already had run a few wires thru the firewall grommet.
Including an overkill 0 ga for my amp...:D

My 21 limited has auto up and down. I'm wondering if trucks with auto up and down already have constant power in the door? Maybe they dropped the 'high' version and just don't require the constant power run to the battery for those with auto up/down. Just guessing... I'm going to be running some other wires through the firewall so it would not be a biggie. Nice looking install on that amp!

From what I understand the low is for trucks that only the drivers side has auto down. The high is for trucks that have bother driver and passenger auto down. When I ordered mine they offered both.

I wonder if the 3W unit could be powered with switched power instead of continuous. I don’t need the all roll down feature from remote.

Would help with accidentally rolling them down with the remote unknowingly.

Auto up and down on the Limited is part of the Limited Premium package. If you have parking sensors and blind spot monitoring, you have the auto up and down.

I am sure it would probably work on switched power but I do know you won't accidentally roll the windows down. You have to press the luck and unlock buttons in a certain order for it to work.

Finally got an answer from 3W to the question "When will the high module be in stock and does it require constant power?"

Answer: We have no idea. Still need to run some tests on high module.

No, and the Autoloc is junk. I'm having issues with my driver's window.

Same here, my wife's 4Runner is auto up and down, but my '19 Limited only has auto down as well. I'm also dumbfounded as why the Limited doesn't.

Junked my AutoLocs and installed the 3W. It's nice having the remote feature and the driver's window is actually faster now and it doesn't stop mid travel like it did with the failing AutoLoc.

The wire that gets snaked to the battery….pretty easy to get it there? I just watched the video and he snapped his fingers and boom we were in the engine bay. I have zero experience running auto wires but am fairly handy. TIA

I would like to add some advice here for everyone. If you are having issues with your 3W Liner window modules, good luck getting in contact with the company. I had a few questions and sent emails, called several times, no answer, and the fact that the answering service says USER HAS NOT SET UP VOICEMAIL should be a big red flag. Fortunately I got through my issue with the model working sporadically. I found a connector that wasnt seated all the way. More advice. All in all, a great mod and theres good instructions in this thread.

I had two issues. The first was while assembling, I had everything together and tested it. Eveything worked except the rear drivers side window.
I pushed the wires into the all the connectors better and that fixed it.
The second was intermittent non response, then complete non response. I checked the 3W liner module and found that I had not seated the harness connectors completely. Hearing them snap in was satisfying and the unit began functioning perfectly.

I sent an email, actually 2 asking for a pdf of the wiring schematic. No responses.
I called twice with the same message stating that the user has not set up voice mail.
If this unit fails, I guess I'll look into something else.

For now its working perfectly and is one of the best mods for the money Ive done.
