TRD Jon posted on his IG story today about a temporary fix for door shaking noise.

Just got mine back from Toyota and they replaced all 4 seals. 3 of them are perfect and have really quieted down the wind noise. The drivers side is awful. I actually can’t believe the service tech let it leave the dealership like this. I picked it up in the dark and didn’t see it till I got home. Immediately called and let them know. They ordered another seal. Frankly toyota service should be ashamed of themselves for this install. B7E892FD-48B0-4807-8539-1E695DBB0B7A.jpg

Has anyone experimented with air VG’s/diffusers/disrupters on the mirror to see if that helped reduce the noise coming from the mirror?

So, originally I thought my noise is because of the mirror, but I'm not so sure anymore.
When mirror is closed, the noise quiets down, but maybe it's because the closed mirror helps to route wind around the window seals...

So maybe it's the window seals after all that's making the noise and not necessarily the mirror itself. I tried to tape up the mirror and it only helped a little bit

I've been thinking the same thing. Most of the noise (after putting 4,500 miles on my truck) seems to be due to the window seals or the weather stripping not allowing the door to close properly.

With that, has anyone taped up the door all the way around from the outside then went for a drive? I guess you could even tape up portions to see where the problem is coming from.

One step further for those in cold weather: If you have access to a thermal camera (my wife got me a little one for christmas that plugs into my phone) you can go for a drive and look for leaks....

    Just some ideas.

I want to diagnose more, but my daily commute to work is only about 30 min through the city, so don't hear this whistling often. And I didn't had a chance to diagnose more..

Dealership was able to replicate my noise, hence the replacement. It's definitely coming from the rubber seal that the window slides into, as though it's not quite thick enough to form a good seat around the glass perimeter. I am going to pull the seal and attach some kind of tape to the frame, then reinstall the seal to see if that helps.

I get whistling after rain but goes away after everything is dry.
Honestly I’m completely disappointed at Toyota.

Just got my truck back after they replaced the drivers side window seal, zero improvement. I’ll be back at the dealership tomorrow. That and there is moisture under the drivers floor mat and Toyota corporate says it’s a faulty design in the mat, I call total BS. Everyone should be checking under their mat after driving on wet roads.

Have you checked the drivers side a pillar and oh shit handle?

heard a few folks had water intrusion through top of windshield . Could be coming all the way down to the carpet

I mentioned that to the dealership and they said it wasn’t from that. I pulled the cover off the grab handle while I washed it and didn’t see and water coming in. I’ll be doing more investigation tomorrow, thank you for the input though, I want to get to the bottom of this.

I was thinking of installing wind deflectors on the side windows, from Weather Tech. Do you think this will help eliminate the noise? Does anyone already have this on their truck?

search for this, there are a few threads, but basically one of the foams that seals a seam is not properly done, and water will travel up if your driving in the rain. IMO toyota should find the vins that are effected and do a recall, the foam is just a 2ndary protection of a welded seam that has failed and allowing water to come into the cabin.

The thread has pics and few other ppl who have same issues.

I showed my dealership that whole thread, they agreed with me but Toyota corporate told them no, it was coming from the floor mat. My dealership is trying to push the issue and has told me to keep monitoring it and let them know when it’s wet again.

pretty sure ppl replicated the issue in the thread

Dry it off in front of them, ask them to spray water from underneath at that seam, check for moisture is what I would ask them to do - in front of you. (I was a previous mercedes auto tech) - this would most likely not be done in the actual service bay but outside where they do detail/carwashes

I sure hope I dont wind up with this kinda sloppy ass build quality bullshit, ugh

Im about a month out for a build date

it does seem like they have really been cleaning up the builds recently and issuing TSBs,ect, so it seems like its finally turning around

I have a 2022 1794 and also have a clicking noise from the driver side windows with the wind or bumps, wind noise in the top left corner, and had a very annoying whistling noise.

Dealer put felt on the window gasket inside the truck which helped with the clicking but made the wind noise worse, they just replaced the entire seal yesterday and the noise seems to be better but the clicking is still there especially when I go over bumps, it's like the window / door seal is sliding around against each other over bumps. I'm going to try some lubricant on the seal to see if that stops it, the new one is much tighter. They also said they are going to replace the rear window seals which are terrible and don't click in like they should.

For the whistling noise I tried tape and folding the mirrors in. What I discovered was that the black vinyl wrap at the top of the windshield was peeled up slightly(1/8th of an inch at the most) and that was causing the whistling on both sides. I pushed that back down underneath the black piece and the whistling has completely stopped for months now.

Yep that’s what my dealership told me. My issue is when I hit about 70 mph my window will rattle. I thought it was the mirror but I can put my arm up against the window and apply pressure and it goes away. Don’t have all the wind noise that everyone else mentions. Also first issue I’ve had with 22k miles. (Knock on wood)

I just picked up a 2023 tundra 1794 with 3 miles on it and it has whistling/ wind noise from driver side… if I knew I wouldn’t have bought it. Spent close to 70k to get a truck that makes wind noise lol. Anything from Toyota on this yet? I don’t want to go there and for them to turn me away.

There's no solution yet. I'm in same situation as you're. And many more..

You can wait, or start taping up seams between the window and door frame, and door frame and truck body to figure out exactly where this noise is coming from, and maybe you'll be able to help dealership come up with a solution

Picked up 2023 platinum last night, wife and kid in the truck for a test drive, 75mph on the highway, it was quiet, they thought it is the least noisy cab they had been iin. Hope it stays that way. Sorry for the people having issues.

you’d think they would fix this problem, now I know why the guy that ordered it didn’t take delivery. This thing makes noise at any mph. :/ I guess I’ll wait.. I’ll do some tinkering tomorrow and see if I can figure it out before Toyota does.

Basically you have to use masking painters tape, tape up every seam, drive, see if noise stopped, if it stopped, open up some portion of the seam, drive more, repeat until you figure out what's causing the noise...

This will be helpfully to hopefully finding some sort of solution, or pointing dealer the right way. They'll be doing diagnostics same way as you but probably less patient. Let us know please
