you have the most expensive vehicle toyota has, I would tell him, lets go test everything you have on the lot.

if its just a truck why does that model have upgraded glass, etc.

to make it silent inside me thinks

Not a bad course of action. What's hard is I don't want to blame Toyota for this, because this is a POS service advisor. But if Toyota would acknowledge the problem with a TSB it would be a non starter. Just frustrating.

ya, ask to talk to the manager or go to another dealer.

its well known these trucks have wind noise problems.

the platinum I tested had some sort of air leak in the center front of the dash, I told them about it after a tested it

I am one of the lucky few that don’t have the wind noise problem. My 1794 is very quiet with no wind noise. Today while on the highway going at 70mph I opened the drivers window and up on closing it I noticed how the window glass goes way up into the rubber seal till it bottoms out and almost starts deforming the window frame. The word is ALMOST… I wonder if that may be the reason why I don’t have any wind noise. For those of you that are experiencing the wind noise you may want to check how far up thus your window glass go into the rubber seal.

Just had a RAV4 LTD loaner for 2 days and it was much quieter on the same highway drive I make everyday. BTW the wireless charger worked flawlessly as well not like my Tundra (whole other thread). I'm dealing with a great Service Advisor who is trying to do everything she can. The dealership has sent in a case file to Toyota Canada. Not holding my breath...

Mine has the wind noise above 50MPH and it’s definitely the door mirror. I used my hand to block the off the gap where the mirror pivots and it stopped. I’m going to add some thin weatherstripping there and see if it “fixes” it. I’m gonna complain to Toyota but but hopefully this helps for now…. Still love everything about the truck though. Not sure if I’m lucky or if they’re fixing the window gasket issue but the 4 trucks I saw at my dealer (2 SR, 1 SR5, 1 platinum) we’re all new arrivals last week when I bought mine and they did not appear to have poorly fitted weatherstripping. I saw complaints about that before I purchased so I was looking….

Just left my dealer at for getting the undercoating done so I would have a lifetime warranty on the frame and told them about this and he said well the two other tundras we drove have it as well and without a TSB there’s nothing we can do. He also made the reference to a giant air mass moving through air lol very annoying

My 1794 with chrome mirrors also has wind whistling noise from the side mirrors above 40mph.

If I close the mirrors, whistling noise disappears. Open mirrors, whistling is back.

Dealer service advisor confirmed the issue but says they're not sure what can be done to fix it. Their shop Forman will drive it tomorrow to confirm whistling and see if anything can be done.

Any tips on what else can be done to escalate this with the dealer?

Just got back from the dealership service.

They don't have any solution for the mirror that's causing whistling noise above 50mph. They did confirm the noise.

They said they can replace the mirrors but don't know if the new mirror is exactly the same as old one and if it will fix issue or not.

So they don't have a solution and told me to go home and monitor

Did anyone had mirrors replaced, and did that resolve the problem?

What kind of mirror do you have?
Chrome or standard mirror or towing?

Just my two sense on claims with a dealership, or in your case fighting lemon law. The mfg I work for will fight tooth and nail to basically leave it up to the selling dealer or service department to take care of a customer, when there are no tsb, recalls or not enough data to conclude it’s an issue they respond exactly how you just were responded too.

The best thing to do is have a tech open up a hotline ticket (engineering tickets) to see if the field service engineer has experienced this.

They changed the inside seals that were all bent up and conformed when I purchased the truck to the proper tight fitting seals on the late production 22s, and the noise is gone. I'm a happy camper.

Can you please post a copy of your RO, my 22 is currently at the shop now for a laundry list of issues, including windnoise and the shop foreman took me for a ride in another used 22 they had on the lot that he claimed rode worst than mine and had worst wind noise. He said they pretty much can't do anything about it other than spring the door which he described as putting your knee in the door and bending it inward. Mine bottoms out as well and things tend to fall off of it or deform.

That is awesome you are not having those issues. Can you send pictures of your window seals?

I have a Limited and the wind noise is kinda annoying. Usually notice it past 30mph and it sounds as if I would have the window slight opened at the top but nope. Or almost like if I had not properly closed the door. I really don't know what the cause could be. At first it was like not really that much of a deal but now that I know it's there, it's something that could be annoying. Has anyone figured out a fix? Are dealers doing anything?

Dealer response has been varied it seems. My dealer changed out all my window seals no questions asked based on my complaint and visually inspecting the poor fit of the seals. Some areas got better, unfortunately some areas that were fine now have wind noise. Seems to be a parts issue. Until the parts are improved it will continue to be mixed bag, some people don't have, or don't notice, the wind noise, others have it and haven't found a resolution.

The mirror noise is a separate issue from the one that makes it sound like your windows are partially open.

I'll be watching this thread for a final conclusion. I have noticed the wind noise in my '22 1794 as well. Sounds like mine is not as bad as some others (I can still make phone calls at 70+mph) but it is definitely noticeable above 30mph. I might try taping a seals individually to identify which one is causing it.

I got the decible-meter out to try and compare my noise to a friends SR5 but he is having the same issue. We'll both be calling the local dealer to try and support the push for a TSB. I have to imagine there is a solution for this.

Had mine in the shop for the four recalls and TSB, and also about window noise (plus squeaking arm rest, which was replaced.)
Tech was able to hear it, recreate noise. Will replace both front exterior window channels. Part number 68141-0C050 and 68151-0C050.
    Doubt it will help.

I am hoping this helps. Please keep us updated.

It is my first day owning a 2023 SR Crewmax. That's the cheapest model.
The reason I got on the forum was all the wind noise from the driver's side door. It does sound like it is coming from around the mirror area.
I wasn't sure if it was because I got the least expensive trim level. After reading some posts, l see it plagues several models.

Oops. Here we go. 2023 Tundra CrewMax 4x4. 17 miles on the odometer - crazy loud whistle from the A pillar or mirror.

Should I duct tape every seam on the mirror? Or drop this truck off at the dealer and get my $60k back?

So I've already tried taping all seams on my 1794 chrome mirror, it stopped whistling at 50mph but it's still there at 70mph although less loud.

I didn't had a chance to diagnose further and only tried taping little by little a couple of times... I'll keep diagnosing. I think I'll figure out exact issue eventually.

Dealer wants my truck back to diagnose more as well, they tried once, confirmed the noise but didn't know how to fix it...

I don't have my 1794 quite yet but I did mention this mirror wind noise issue to my dealer. He said Toyota dealers have an electronic device they can use to diagnose the source of the noise. Not sure how this works or if this is BS. Just thought I'd mention it.

Update: had my "first run" door seals replaced under warranty. Still have noise. New seal looks exactly like the seal that was replaced.

Sorry to hear this, and thank you for letting us know.

Did dealership believe the noise is related to door seals?
