Add me to the list, at this time, only passenger side is doing lots of "wind noise" and at this time, no whistling. If my wife is able to hear it, means it is definitely noticeable!

Wonder if installing the AVS Low Profile Visors would take care of this?

I was thinking the same, but we shouldn’t have to resort to this.

100% agree, but is there any fix in the works from Toyota? Seems like it's hit and miss for all members here, they get their parts replaced, fixes the whistling, but does it fix the wind noise?

Almost seems like we need a small canard (similar to what they put on front bumper) but near/on the inside of the mirror to deflect the air from the window.

    Edit: something like this:

I was wondering the same, so I actually rednecked a cardboard visor and taped it on the door, overhanging the window edge by several inches. It did not solve the whistling. I was surprised because it covered the whole area that is solved when I tape over it.

All this wind noise issues I read about have me extra peeved. As I remember the Toy engineer guy on the TFL video BOAST how Toy spent soooo much extra time in the wind tunnel with this new truck. I guess they tested with the windows cracked or something

Right... Shouldn't there be someone fired for such mishaps?

OH wait... Tundra doesn't have any so-called wind noise issues because it's such a miniscule percentage, and all of us on this forum are anamolies.

Oddly enough I dont have any wind noise. I have tow mirrors and not the smaller ones so I wonder if that has something to do with it? My truck is quieter than my wife's Lexus

For what it's worth, and I don't know if this has been mentioned (have not read all posts), but I have the standard mirrors with power folding, and the wind noise goes away when the mirrors are folded in.

Similar situation here. Was whistling before, closed mirror and no whistling. I believe that mirrors helped to route air certain way when it's folded ... Not necessarily mirror is at fault.

Changing front window rubber runner may help. See my post in this thread 1-2 pages up

I agree, my 2021 TRD Pro has incredible wind noise from 45 mph an up. Mainly from drivers side window and lower front corner of window..(mirror). It almost sounds as if driving with window open. Wondering if anyone has tried adding weather strip? I remember a video from either untamed or trd doing this due to rattle. Disappointing on noise.

drove to/from bismarck (106 miles 1 way) between 69-74 mph and never noticed any wind noise. temps were in the 20-30F range during the drive. 8-dec-22 build date on 5.5 platinum bone stock.

My 23 TRD PRO has the noise as well. I only hear it while going 65 plus. Really bad at 75.

We that's actually good an bad news. Bad news is Toyota obviously has an issue. Good news for me is that it's not isolated to my truck. Uncdrtakn if Toyota will an can do anything, right now anyways. I'm installing the straps this weekend, will post. 75mph is almost unbearable with wind noise.

I finally had my rear window trim replaced. So they’re not coming apart. The front seals, I’m being told is still waiting for an updated design. So I haven’t asked for just a regular replacement. Let me know if yours is fixed and I’ll do the same.

Just picked up my 2023 Tundra SR5 DC, tow mirrors, wind noise on driver’s side for speeds around 70+ is present.

Updated design? is this going to be available to all of us even if our wind noise is marginal....not zero but not terrible either?

There's no updated design for the rubber window runner. The issue is likely a bad/defective/deformed piece or a tech installing it originally did a bad job.

See previous page in this thread for a solution, I had my rubber window runner replaced and whistling noise is gone now. Some slight wind noise on freeway still there though, but thankfully no whistling.

According to Toyota insider here, there's no issue here, and this wind noise is limited to very few trucks, and nothing is being done to fix it. All you can do is ask your dealer to replace the rubber window runner.

Trust me, Toyota is very sorry!

I have tow mirrors and get wind noise around 60+ mph (in my previous post it was 70+ I know, but it seems to be getting worse) in my 2023 SR5. The mechanic said he took it for a drive and couldn’t reproduce it.

I’m currently looking for the posts about the D shape weather stripping that some people were using.

How do you know noise is causes by your mirrors?

Have you tried to tape up all seals around your door and mirror to narrow down which area is causing the noise? It could be seal between the side window and the door frame.

We haven't had anyone confirm that tow mirrors cause the wind noise. At least not yet

I created a thread and not sure where it went but I don’t have any crazy wind noise issues at high speed. I had a specific whistling noise at low speed. It was happening at 34-38 mph on my drivers side and evolved over time. I was able to narrow it down and fix myself. I taped up my entire window seal thinking that was the culprit, but it wasn’t. I then taped up the mirror, basically where it pivots and the noise went away. I removed the tape and the noise came back and then I really started playing with different spots. My noise was coming from the black plastic pads on the inside of the mirror where it folds. I think in time they have pertruded out a little and you can feel the little lips on them. I used clear hockey tape which is really soft and conforms well. I covered the seam between the pad and the mirror and my whistling noise is completely gone and you can only see the tape when my mirror is folded. Give it a try

    It's different for everyone...
I had mirror whistle noise, then it stopped, it later came back and was traces to window runner...

So it's a different issue for us all it seems...

Step one is to tape it all up and do trial and error diagnostics

I was offering to add my data point in response to someone who said they had tow mirrors and do not have the issue. I have tow mirrors and have the issue, so it’s not isolated to that.

Ok, all I'm saying is can you try to figure out what's causing the wind noise? It could be your tow mirrors or could be window runner.

I did and for the most part the noise has been resolved. Closest dealer is over an hr away and they’ve already had my truck for a few weeks in the first 6 months I’ve had it. Between that and the fact there is not an updated seal that has been released (to my knowledge) I decided to try beefing up the seals with some additional weather stripping and also applied some 3m weather strip adhesive under the oem seal to help create a better seal. It worked, but it’s still not why I would expect from a brand new (and not cheap) truck. Disappointing to say the least. Hoping we eventually get some updated seals!

Add me to the list of trucks with the annoying wind noise as well. I raised the issue with the dealer and they replace the seal again, but did not resolve the issue. I called them on the way home from picking up the truck and the response was that it was what they were expecting. Apparently, the first test for them is to replace the current seal with a new version of the same seal and see if that works - thus it did not. It can be very annoying to me but I had almost become used to it (tuned it out I suppose?). However, after traveling a few weeks with a rental vehicle I then notice it is rather blatant when driving the Tundra.

Other than the wind noise and a few other noises that I have had addressed the vehicle has been flawless mechanically (panoramic moon roof rattled like crazy but they fixed; clunking noise in the rear turned out to be the spare tire chain which hangs down in a rather poor design - fixed through some suggestions in the group by tying it up with a zip tie).
