295/70/18 are a great compromise as far as look/strain on vehicle /mpg..etc..

Slow and steady wins the race. I did all the work except welding on Lisa's truck - you can save yourself a decent chunk of change by doing whatever possible yourself. The most important thing is to get out there and enjoy the truck in whatever state it is.

Haha! Thanks man. I'll be honest - our original plan was to NOT do a bunch of crazy shit to it and use it as a tow rig for our horses, the track car and track bikes. Lisa wanted a little lift, nice wheels and tires, intake and exhaust. So we had 20s with 33s at first. Size should never stop anyone form doing stupid shit off road.

Don't you fuckin steal my idea and do it first. Actually it wasn't even my idea first. I have to credit Beau the Crazy Cajun.

I run 285x65 R18s for daily use, with a set of Hancook Dynapro ATM AT Tires.

When I'm going off-road, and I know it. I put on my 315x70 R17s Cooper Discoverer STT Pro MTs. In large part because the approach, departure and break over angles are all improved.

I dislike the loss of 3mpg, and how noisy the mud tires are, but there's very little comparison while rock crawling the almost 3" (1.5" of lift) matter.

I agree, but I've run out of room for the radios.

I've added 7 to the truck...

I could have done 2 fewer than I have pretty easily. using dual band 2m/70cm antennas rather than two single band antennas for each of two radios.

But no, I'm good with what's there. Everything has a purpose, and they all get used.

you are running VHF w 2m antennas, so dual-band and be done.. how many possible channels do you need to monitor at the same time? I mean im just asking about it now out of curiosity.. like 7 radios.. a few single band, a CB maybe ... what else? BTW im a old school navy comms guy so i do get comms
