We are being too logical for the OP to understand. Again, there's a reason why Ford sells a million of them every year. OP is just doing his part on those numbers.

LMAO! If I were you I would definitely get rid of that Tundra and get a Ford. Go to a Ford forum (specifically the F-150 page) and then come back and tell us your decision.

    Go ahead.

In a year your 5 year old former Tundra will be worth more than your 1year old new Ford.

Yep easy payment plans on cheap crap that will be worthless before it's paid off. Hell I wouldn't buy a new Tundra and I can afford it. But I ain't financing anything nor will I spent an outrageous amount of money on a vehicle again in my life. I spent $43K on vette 18 years ago. That was stupid. Paid it off and kept it for 10 years. Sold it for $14K

If you drive a ton per year, buying any new vehicle is the worst decision possible. You’re far better off with a bulletproof tundra drivetrain than a finicky turbo setup. Both trucks are going to rack up miles fast so the newness will be gone quicker than the payments

They are giving you a good deal on that Ford because they can't sell it. No one wants a v6 in a full size truck. If it were the eco boost, I would think about it, but a normal v6 in a full size, no thanks. The resale value on it is going to be horrible as well just because no one is going to want a v6 truck. Also when I was looking at trucks in 2016, the XLT package had less tech than the Tundra. Not sure what they look like now, but the radio screen was about 3 inches square and they had none of the fancy stuff on it. A king ranch or other similar is a different story, but the XLT was nothing special.

Former F-150 owner here...I won’t get into a Ford vs. Tundra argument but I think it’s a crappy deal. It’s a major downgrade of a truck, no 4WD, smaller engine. Fords don’t hold value like Toyota’s - and rolling negative equity into a loan on a Ford is a double whammy - is not good financial sense.

Think about it. If you want to do it - sell the Tundra yourself - it’ll sell quickly.

(Oh and BTW, my F-150 was in the shop quite a bit...)

Not worth it. About 2k more and you can get a crew cab 150 with the 3.5 turbo. At least it'll be fast.

I've had good Fords and bad Fords, but if you drive that much, you'd be out of warranty pretty quickly. If I know I'm driving a vehicle well in to the 6 figure territory, I'd definitely keep the Toyota. Especially if someone else is paying for the gas!! Good luck either way.

If you're truly interested in getting into a Ford ask them about a 4x4 with the 3.5 EB or 5.0 in a similar trim. With the V6 you will lose on trade in big time, so few people buy them because you always need more power as they are better suited in Rav4 CRV than a full size pickup.

Like one guy said, Ford will wow you with the up front numbers. And that's why they sell so many fleet vehicles. Long term when including trade in value and maintenance Ford's don't get the best numbers, partly because there's so many of them.

Out of curiosity I pulled up 2015 ford 150 xlts for sale in the area with 100k miles. They are asking between $16000-$19000 so I assume they took them in on trade for a few thousand less.
If you do it you can at least be happy your tundra brought you good trade in value.

I did the same thing. Nice new 2015 F150. Struggled for 4.5 years through over 14 major warranty repairs. Finally gave up and now I'm in a Tundra.

I thought it was the eco-boost. I definitely wouldn’t get it now that I know it’s just the standard V6. Although I bet that V6 without the turbo is more reliable. But now knowing that you have a 4 x 4 truck and this new truck is only 2x, and it has been NA V-6, no way. Tell them to knock off 10 grand LOL

I agree with most to keep your tundra especially since 4x4. May not always need it but sucks when you don't have it and do need it. At the end though, do what makes you happy. Good luck

So I got my wife a brand new 2020 Lexus RX 350, that thing is awesome I love the Lexus quality. All my friends and family asked if I’m trading the tundra, my wife kept her old car for 10 years. I say that to say this, you don’t need a new truck. Why get into more debt? Pay that truck off and enjoy having your money back, my truck is almost paid off then use that extra money for upgrades I want if that, or just more gas money and enjoy driving and going places.

Do you need a truck for work? With the miles to drive and how fast you plan on paying the tundra off, sounds like you can afford a cheaper vegan for just work that you don’t mind killling with miles?
