Why no love for Mesquite?

Pricey but worth it! All I have left is the trim and doing something about the chrome lower door trim

 

I agree it’s worth it. I’m gathering supplies for the lower door trim myself. This will be my first attempt at wrapping.

 

I was debating taking it off and replacing with the platinum trim, but I’d never be able to line it up correctly. Lmk how it goes!

 

I searched for someone selling the Platinum trim but I was worried about not getting it exactly right also. Not to mention the price may have not been worth it. I’ll let you know.

 

I wonder how it would look with the chrome removed and just the main 1794 badge on the front door. I believe it pops out of the larger chrome piece

Ever find a vinyl wrap that matches Smoked Mesquite? Has anyone else? Could really use some!

Picked it up on Saturday and been loving it ever since. Coming from a trd pro Tacoma and the same in the tundra is huge. Plus the long bed makes for a very long truck compared to the Tacoma. Love the smoked mesquite color and how different it is. I haven’t seen another tundra near me painted in this color.

I also came from a Tacoma (2017 TRD OR) and am still adjusting to the size difference.

Towing is MUCH better and we call my truck "The Unicorn" since Mesquite Tundras just don't exist in SoCal apparently.

Thanks! It has the black soft-tex, was also optioned with the pano roof and some other nice creature comforts. I can tell you I definitely won’t miss the shifting in the Tacoma. I had about 110 mile drive home from the dealership and it was so smooth and just cruised so nicely. It is a big step up. I do miss my Tacoma a lot but with a toddler and black lab, it just didn’t work anymore. Plus got about 5,000 under msrp and the dealer didn’t add any dealer options at all. So makes me even happier with the truck purchase

I agree with the unicorn name, smoked mesquite is a rare color to see. I had never seen one in person until this truck.

 

2023 TRD Off-Road, bought early January and a couple weeks ago outfitted by OK4WD in New Jersey with Alu-Cab’s Contour Canopy, LT-50 Rooftop tent and 270-degree awning. Lot of roadtrips and camping on the agenda for 2024. “No dark colors,” I said…. Then this rig came along and it was love at first sight!

Love Mesquite. I find it's beauty is when close up to see the metallic shimmer which is not obvious from a distance.

New tires, went with Nitto Recon Grapplers 275 65 20. Loving the upgrade from stock. Still need leveling kit and to get rid of that stache.

 

San Diego Mesquite here...purchased in Feb 2022 and haven't seen another one since!

 

Did you change the upper and lower mustache yourself? Curious how complicated it is...looking to purchase from OEMpainted parts.

 

Since last I posted in this thread about Smokey -- my '23 Limited TRD-OffRoad -- we did a 9,000-mile coast-to-coast trip. April-June. Visited family, friends and some fantastic state and national parks. The Tundra was superb! So very glad I bought it. Also enjoying the Alu-Cab equipment -- Contour Canopy, LT-50 rooftop tent and 270-degree Shadow awning. Here are some pics from a recent trip to Shenandoah National Park.

 

The Tundra compliments any scenery.
