    Hello All,
This is my first post. However this is my 3rd tundra. I’ve been on and off the forum since my 2014 tundra. Just got my 22 mesquite limited DC Trd. Couldn’t be happier. Getting ready to start the mods. Ordered my tonneau cover, headache rack and bed divider. Looking for some more pics of mesquite with mods. And they are hard to find. I even looked at changing door handles to match color and all colors are listed except for mesquite. Would love to see some pics of what others are doing to their smoked mesquite.

First mods should be getting rid of the silver mustache around the grille and silver headlights.
It would be a nice-looking truck after that, even leaving your chrome grille emblem...

Welcome to the forum from Dallas....:D

I am in the same boat. I love my smoked mesquite color but not many people have it to see what mods look like on it.

I like the color, it’s different, not just another boring silver or gray. And the fact you have a Double Cab makes it even better! I actually do like the silver and or chrome accents.

They'll come around with more chrome/silver delete parts. Sparks Parts offered Sequoia painted door handles for my chrome-heavy '20 1794, along with mirror caps; but it was probably more than 6 months into '20 before they showed up. Worth the wait, and [squishing face as I write this] the price.

I prefer to use apple wood in my smoker. Mesquite is too strong in my opinion.

Just got mine a few days ago. I had been waiting since Feb. Love how the color changes depending on the light of the day. Going to be doing a chrome delete soon and I am also adding TRD running boards this weekend.

Just left my auto body shop. Went over all the chrome to get rid of. My tonneau cover, headache rack and bed divider all comes tomorrow. Next gonna level it and swap out the front grill for the Toyota pro grill.

That's gonna be awesome. Is your pro grill
Coming with the light bar? I haven't researched the prices yet for the delete in the Richmond Va area, but were you pleased with the quotes you got? Any advice for a new owner? Please post pics when complete.

No on the light bar. Not sure that’s available yet. I’m just starting to work on the pricing now. Lots of info on this site.

Mesquite is one of the three colors I’ll accept from my dealer, I really like it. But…..this photo made me laugh because in this light it’s about the same color as what my dogs leave in the yard! :poking:

Wasn't looking for mesquite but when I was offered one, I took it. It's really grown on me.

As far as what I have done to it, its still stock. Lift, wheels, bumpers will probably come this winter once there are more options. Retrax going on on Monday if I don't take the boat out.

I wanted the mesquite, pulled into the dealer back in June 2020, ready to buy and the salesman informed me it, that the only one they had on the lot was sold 20 minutes before. Ended up with the silver sky instead. Did see a mesquite this weekend with bronze fuel wheels. Wow! That was really nice looking. Sorry no pic to prove it, didn’t want to come across as a creeper.

...in the before times, when if what you wanted wasn't on the lot, you picked another new truck on the lot.

I got nothing but time. I can wait for it. Saw a beautiful silver platinum today. The guys on my left and right shoulder were having a big argument. Thumped the guy off the left shoulder that kept saying..buy it, buy it and walked away. I shall wait for my Smoke.

Figured I would post an updated picture of my piece of dog shit. CC7EF0C2-333D-4A02-8C6C-6BC5050E17B8.jpg Sorry I could not find a bag big enough to put it in, or a porch big enough to put it on.

Love that color! Unfortunately it does nothing to help the epic ugliness of the truck itself.

I get my smoked Mesquite any day now!! Have never seen the color in person, but in pics it seems to actually make the chrome bits look nice. It wasn’t my first color choice, but I think I’m going to like it. Oddly, my wife also has a brown Toyota, a pyrite mica RAV4.
