Whoa...a Tundra Forum!!

Holy crap. Another big name TW member joining the fold. Is the lack of torque in the 3.5 the reason?

 

I'm keeping the Tacoma, but I can't wait to lace into that V8 in the Tundra.

We will be a two truck family. Haha

 

The Tacoma will be a personal daily driver, while the Tundra will be the company owned show/tow vehicle.

 

Can you confirm the inside width of the bed, between the accessory rails?

So, from the narrowest point between the accessory rails.

Finally had time to test drive the 5.7 liter tonight (with a truck wrapped around it).

Holy power!!!

It can actually climb steep hills without shifting 3,000 times. I'm not used to that.

 

I couldn't get mine out of park before it shifted 32 times. Whoever did that to the 2016 needs to be quartered and fed to man eating ants!! My 1996 wasn't near as bad and it was a 4 cyl. The Gen 3s are F-ing horrible. I only had mine for 10 months before i called it a day....and i tried really hard to like it

 

I love literally everything about the 3rd gen Tacoma, except that horrific engine. And most days I don't even mind the engine, except for towing, and climbing big hills, and I do a lot of both.

 

i live at almost 11,000 ft in elevation and getting that thing to wake up in the morning wasn't until after i struggled up the continental divide...then i was too pissed to appreciate the interior, exterior, and sweet dash. A strong engine is important to me. I even flattened out the leaf springs the very first camping trip i went on. total bummer

 

I'll keep both trucks for a while, then replace the Tacoma with an Audi S3 or S5.

I've seen S6. Is the S5 new?

 

It's been around for a good ten years. It's the coupe. You don't see many, at least not in my neck of the woods.

If I get an S3 it only comes in DSG, but I kinda want to try that.

You can't go wrong with anything AUDI. I've been wanting one for a while. If i ever get another car it will be AUDI for sure. Nice choice
