Based on some discussion that happened last night in the new member section, I bring this new crossbar design.

It is designed to be reversible, meaning, you can run them one way for 3" of rise, or flip them down for 2" of drop.

The lighter colored end bracket that you see, attaches to the deck rail in the bed with T-Slot nuts and a knob. This piece will be made from 7 gauge 304 stainless steel, bead blasted.

The crossbar is 14 gauge steel, powder coated black.

Let me know price. You just made up my mind. I am building a base rack and adding the bed rails to use this.

This is as close as I can come at the moment, since they don't actually exist yet. Haha

What you see in this picture is the appropriate width for a Tacoma. I just need to adjust the length of the crossbar for the Tundra.

So it's exactly 6.25" wider than the Tacoma.

Can anyone else take a moment to grab that dimension? It's good to take a sample, because sometimes they vary a bit.

You would use their clamping device, or bolt it direct.

Cargo baskets, bike mounts, kayak carriers......

For light RTT's I would suggest three of these bars, just to distribute the load across the deck rail. I would not suggest a heavy RTT, the deck rail is not that strong.

We will offer other options for the guys with heavy RTT's. Something supported by the bed sides.

    This is great info.

I've built in some room for adjustment by slotting the crossbar attachment holes.

This seems like it'll slide in under my bed rack. Once my new truck is home and settled in with all the parts back on, I'm going to take a good look at this.

Great design work on it man.

    Kevin,
If it fits under his rack it'll fit under yours. His is lower than yours. Just wrap plastic around the bars or plastidip em
