Typically Chrysler/Fiat has really cool cutting edge engineering but they can’t get it into production without it becoming total crap

 

750hp is race truck territory, heavily overbuilt for safety at 100mph when landing a nosedive. 550HP is more than enough for a DD/Weekend warrior

 

The TRX is not being built for “enough”, nor does their target customer want “enough”

I need 770 hp about like I need a case of herpes.

 

No thanks the doors, bed and rockers will be rusted out in 3 to 4 years and probably 2 transmissions in that time frame also.

 

Nobody buys a fiat and plans to keep it that long. People who have this kind of money to burn will dump it within 20 months, so reliability really never comes up in their mind as an issue

I thought 381 was right but was too lazy to look further.

 

It's hammered in my brain because when I bought the (then new) 2007 Tundra, everybody would ask me how many hp it had. 381.

Same thing with the 1794 Edition - everybody would ask me what it stood for. I'd tell them it was their way of sticking it back at Fords King Ranch trucks. The ranch Toyota bought for their Texas Tundra plant was established in 1794. King Ranch was established in 1853. At least that was the story that I told...

Tundras made me smurt because of the questions people ask me. Anymore it's "What color is that?!"

 

if my wife wasn’t afraid of the size of Tundra she’d be getting a 1794. Instead we are saving for a 4Runner.

I went with the Fj instead of the 4runner. But I did need a the space I only have one kid left that goes with us anywhere. 22 yr old and my 11yr old.

 

We had the FJ Special Edition in Cement but traded it in for the 4Runner Pro. My brother-in-law is Special Needs and we take care of him. He had a hard time getting in and my wife and I would then fight over who got to drive and who had to squeeze in the back seat. Loved that thing, but the 4-Runner definitely fit our situation better.

 

Thats what I have is the Cement 2014 but not that Special Edition. Me and the wife really like it.

 

Great little vehicles. After we bought it, I found an old 1974 FJ40. It was like we had the great grandfather to the cruiser.

lol. The launch edition sold out in 3 hours after going on sale ( all 702 ) . All the 2021 are sold out already and they’re taking orders for 2022 now . I guess they gave people what they wanted .
